Because you are talking about corporatism, globalism, and the inherent problem with communism. None of which would exist in a free market.
When conservatives talk about capitalism they mean, exclusively, free market capitalism. The ownership of personal property and labor and the freedom to trade with someone else in your own community.
They don't mean government granted power of monopoly, two tiered justice systems, freedom from liability, multi-billion dollar lobbying. Nor do they mean the independent governance and blatant tax avoidance that allows corporations to function on a global scale, and rival world governments in power, without repercussion thanks to the aforementioned issues. All while their actual owners are free from even an ounce of scrutiny and engage in profiteering and social manipulation through "non-profits" they control.
When communists talk about the evils of capitalism the blame all of that on the middle class and private property, because that's what their corporate sponsors told them to blame, and that's why the word was invented.
No they won't. Your property is worth more to them than the debt you owe on it. Always a foreign investor willing to pick it up below market value, but above the debt you owed.

I'm not saying it was the only cause, but it was, imo, a significant push that propelled Canada further left than the US for a couple of decades to follow. The gap now though, is much narrower than a lot want to admit.
"Labor camp" was a polite term for giving the unemployed something to do.
"Concentration camp" was a polite term for a "safe space" to keep an at risk population.
These things always come into play in the name of the greater good, and they aren't seen as a bad thing until after the fact.
We did it to them. Sent them a bunch of conscientious objectors Hippy Cowards and it caused an immediate ripple on effect that drove the whole country left of Obama. During the Obama year their media constantly praised him, and treated their own conservatives like Bush. This pushed the entire conservative party left of Mit Romney.
They are really only a couple of years to the left of the US at this point, and the covidian cult and traitorous GOP is making up ground fast.

This happened a lot in 2016-2017 when arguing with people about something Trump said. "Did you actual see him say that? Show me." Proceeds to send me a link with a youtube moron claiming that Trump said something, and an out of context soundbyte as "proof." Yet they would still 100% fully believe that they "watched the whole speech."
At least here in Canada the population is sold hook, line, and sinker on "Private landlords are evil!" - "everyone should be renting!" - "No one should be wasting livable space on grass or trees!" - "Everyone should be in multifamily housing!"
