Majority of the the federal budget is funded by federal income taxes, corporate taxes are about 1/6th of the collected taxes (approx #'s) so, theoretically, states with a larger population with higher cost of living, get higher wages paying the bulk of the federal income taxes. Our states have city and local taxes to pay for the majority of the hand outs so its not a burden on red states per se. It is federal money from American citizens equal rate across the country so its not the states money so thats where the argument should end but I dont think a lot of people fully understand that...I tried a simple explanation 😂
