I have lived in Portland all my life and of course hate it.
So the other night my gf takes me and two of her coworkers to a comedy club to see some guy I've never heard of (some Youtube guy, JP something) and it's right on Hawthorne which has historically been a progressive hippy street for decades. I'm angry I have to be there and I'm rude to everyone in site who I despise for simply being in that area and looking like they do.
But get this... the two comedians that opened for this guy -- both from Portland -- shit all over the virus death rate (how low it is) they shit on Portland, Biden, etc. And the crowd is eating it up and applauding. THIS IS IN PORTLAND.
One of the comedians asks a couple in the front row what they do, you know playing off their answers, the woman is a nurse. To look at her she's the typical Karen-Progressive-Cunt. He asks if the virus is a big deal and she says "No" the audience starts cheering and applauding. He asks her advice on how to deal with it all and she says "Just live your normal life and you'll be fine" audience cheers again (me being one of them).
The headliner comes on and shits on Biden, shits on Epstein, definitely shits on Bill Gates and his wife. goofs on how people are acting all this time with their mask bullshit, and not only is everyone agreeing with all of this there isn't one dissenter in the crowd. And this crowd def had some soys and chicks with hairy armpits.
tl;dr even Portland is waking up.
I have a HUGE problem whenever people here say "fuck the city of _____ they deserve what they get" because none of these shitholes (Portland included) is 100% liberal. The thinking is us conservatives should flee these cities and let them win. Oregon is a red state but Portland overwrites the votes of the rest of this huge state and that has to change too.
Don't abandon the shitholes, they are still American cities and we should never give in to this, we should always fight.

Sounds about right. Whenever I meet new neighbors they are here from blue states. And they always assume that I too am a liberal. So now when I meet someone new, I say "FYI I'm a conservative. I'm telling you this so you don't get too comfortable and shit all over the right then watch you cringe when I tell you I'm not like you."

Portland got fucked when they introduced mail-in ballots and the Dems cheated their way into overpowering any other political party here. That, and that stupid Portlandia caused progressives from all over the country to move here and do this shit.

I remember back in the early 90s I covered two of Bush Sr's visits here for my video class at school. I noticed both times the stupid liberal protests would start to faze out, then a group of young dudes dressed all in black (anarchists, who changed their name to antifa a few years ago but didn't change anything else) would come in and start shit. The "peaceful protesters" wouldn't try to stop them from doing shit like throwing m-80s onto Interstate 5, but they would bitch and moan if the police rightfully stopped them and beat their asses. They've been using the left for decades to cover for them so they can just cause chaos. Also, prior to this year, the anarchists would have a "parade" every May Day where they would throw bricks through windows and cause destruction. Portland has had decades to flush these assholes out and never even tried.

I didn't. Problem with Portland is the mail-in votes allowed them to fill all positions with Dems, which caused other progressive assholes from around the country to flock here thinking it's a paradise.
Portland has a long history of voting stupid however, just look up John Kitzhaber.
It's a shame that you and others in this thread missed the dozens of instances this past year where the police refused to carry our the unlawful and unfair rules put into place by the Dems in regards to the China virus.
That's probably why the Dem governors and mayors are willing to let them be attacked and defunded: They are pissed the police did the right thing and not their thing.
My company used to have a retail outlet, and we had a driver that was retired but needed to work for us part-time to pay his part of Obamacare even though he had insurance.
He was talking to an employee we had who was a legal citizen but from Mexico. He was complaining to her one day about the cost of insurance under Obamacare, and she was like "Really? I have Obamacare and I don't pay anything!"
That was a huge part of the problem. Thank God Trump was elected.
