I remember when I thought W was one of us and was glad he got to nominate Roberts. Ah, to be young and naive ...

This is pretty much what we did anyway. We all got our absentee ballots in the same mail call, and sat on the floor in berthing voting for Ronaldus Maximus then turned them back in together

These are the things that I take comfort in:God is in charge and Trump is still fighting for you. There is nothing wrong with grieving for the world that was, but don’t let your grief steal the joys of today. There is still beauty in the world and there are at least 70 million who have not bowed the knee. Have courage and face whatever comes with the certainty that this is not our final home. Does Trump win and drain the swamp? Do we plunge into civil war? I can’t answer these, I try to plan for the worst, but still enjoy the day. Enjoy friends, family and pets. I guess some of this sounds like Pollyanna, but seriously: don’t give up on personal joy even if things go bad

Interesting observation. I’d forgotten she was involved.

He’s such a normal American. That’s the kind of thing no politician would ever say, but every guy I hang out with talks like that.

I just tried DDG and it came right up. Maybe there’s some internal sabotage....?

He’s getting roasted in that thread. I don’t usually enjoy twitter comment threads, but that one’s fun.

I believe all Texas schools were required to provide it for at least 6 weeks. Austin kept changing the rules in the summer. Most of these teachers have a class of regular students sitting in front of them and they are dealing with a bunch of stupid “pandemic” procedures. They don’t have time to babysit kids on the other side of a screen. Also because of some stupid decisions by Austin last spring, many of the students lost what little work ethic they had. Many of these small TX schools are filled with good people. Online school is just a bad idea for most kids

Same garbage in our trade, businesses and media. We thought everyone wanted liberty, and our enemies used our naive sense of fair play against us.

This is why I prefer Ayn Rand, especially Anthem. The world was just as screwed up, but the good guy wins in the end.

My family is working toward that. We need the system to hold together for a few more years. Or better yet, Trump turns it around and we get America back.

Same. I hated the ending of that book. I can’t believe I have to live it. I hope ours turns out better.
