Didn't his girlfriend testify that they started taking "new pills" 3 months before his death? And that she didn't say the new pills as much because they made her tired and made her feel like she was dying? Almost like they switched from other opioids to fentanyl.
A NICS background check is different from a regular background check. The NICS instant background check system for the most part happens instantly. If you have a relatively unique name and no criminal record, it's less than a minute. If your name is Mike Smith and you have a long record of petty misdemeanors, it might take a while. Regardless, you can't initiate a transfer unless you're there in person. You have to show up, fill out a form, present a legal photo ID, and then once you have everything you give it to a licensed federal firearms dealer and they run the NICS check. It comes back green, then they can sell you the gun.
If you buy a gun online, they way it works is you give them the address of a local firearms dealer that you want them to ship the gun to in order to make the transfer. When it arrives at your local dealer, you go in, pay a transfer fee ($20 - $50 usually) and they run the background check. It is currently illegal to purchase a firearm from a dealer without going through a background check in person.
The "loophole" they keep talking about is private transfers. If your neighbor is getting rid of his hunting shotgun, and you're interested in it, you can make a private sale. In these sorts of transactions it's up to the seller to ensure that the person they are selling to is legally allowed to own firearms. If they knowing or negligently sell a firearm to a prohibited possessor they are liable, just like someone would be liable for selling cigarettes to a minor, except more severe. Most people only make private sales to people they know, or people that already own guns. You meet a guy at a gunshow walking around open carrying a revolver, it's probably ok for you to sell him your shotgun even though he is a stranger.
What all of this ignores is that the majority of gun crime is done with stolen or illegally possessed guns. Locking down even tighter on the people that follow the law will not stop the people who don't follow the law.
Uh, no. That's now how it works. If you purchase a gun online, you still have to do an instant background check in person. Gun show or no gun show. Zero exceptions. The background check and transfer is always performed by a licensed FFL and is always done in person.
What they're complaining about is private sales. So someone has an old revolver from their grandpa that they bring to a gun show to see if it's worth something, and another person at the show offers them $300 for it and they sell it to them. That's what they're complaining about. Private sales that take place at gun shows, not sales from dealers.
Guy had a felony warrant for weapons charges. Felonies are serious shit. This wasn't about traffic violations. There are body cams. I'm sure we'll see them eventually.
They ran his ID, he had a felony warrant for weapons charges. They asked him to step out of the car, he resisted arrest and fled.
Felony warrant for weapons charges. He resisted arrest and fled. There are times where officers can shoot at a fleeing suspect.
Fucking hell. This shit is like a 3 minute drive from my house. I'm now scanning all the news to determine if I need to stay up all night tonight. All because a thug with a felony warrant wanted to fight the cops and resist arrest.
I usually think. "I'm carrying a gun. I should be extremely polite, turn off my car and put my keys on the dash, keep my hands visible, and give the officer my liscense and my permit to carry, and not take my hands off the wheel without informing the officer that I'm going to retrieve something." Usually just being respectful and taking basic steps to show the officer that you're law abiding and non-threating will make all the difference.
Honestly, the Minneapolis police should just walk. I wonder what would happen. The city will probably burn for a few days, but it did last time anyway.
Anyone bitches about it just tell them that the social workers are on the scene, it should be handled in no time.
Not exactly. They charged him with murder 2, murder 3, and manslaughter.
I think he's gonna walk on all three. Murder you have to prove malice, manslaughter you have to prove negligence, and they're not going to be able to do either.
This is treating a group of individuals that share a trait as a monolith and is the foundation of identity politics. Identity politics is garbage and is to be rejected. This is no different than the argument that white people owned slaves, therefore white people are evil and owe reparations.
I engaged someone on this a while ago and their argument boiled down to the Jews are globalists, and I basically said then why isn't your problem with globalists?
Getting your panties in a twist over a race of people is stupid identity politics bullshit. If you have a problem with a religion then lets hear your argument. If your problem boils down to "Jews are globalists therefore Jews bad" then I think you're missing the forest for the trees.
There is literally a Footlocker in downtown Minneapolis. I used to pick up their money for their armored car service. That is assuming they didn't shut it down after the burning, looting, and murdering riots last summer.
There is a Footlocker in North Minneapolis too. North is a total shithole. It's sad. They're were pouring money into North to try and revitalize the community there, but it's never going to work. Waste of my fucking tax dollars.
That's just it though. If you ack like a black person they're going to either claim you're mocking them or say it's cultural appropriation. They want you groveling and apologizing for being born white. Stupid identity politics bullshit.
Not gonna lie. It took me a second to understand what I was looking at. lol
