Rhode Island too! I don't understand it. I guess they have some polling data at the county level?

David Pakman does a pretty good job in his videos. He's good at differentiating when he's asserting a fact from when he's providing opinionated analysis. He's my #1 source for leftist content that I use to make sure I don't get trapped in a right-wing biased news algorithm on YouTube.

If he's getting nervous, that's a powerful signal for me!

I'm sorry to hear all that. I'm here for similar reasons: thinking that there's a growing segment within the left that's going insane. You've certainly got it worse than I do, I've noticed divisions in my workplace with my employer taking stances on BLM and such, but my family and friends groups have stayed entirely respectful.

I hope things get better for you <3

Do you not feel gross typing that? It's despicable to wish for someone to commit suicide.

I'm seeing them on desktop.

Top right, look for the gear icon -> hidden posts.

More info on the law (1 page): https://eshoo.house.gov/sites/eshoo.house.gov/files/Preventing%20Unwarranted%20Communications%20Shutdowns%20Act%20-%20one-pager.pdf

It sounds like a perfectly good law. Making it harder for the government to seize internet access in the US is a good thing. The timing is suspect though. They're implying some serious bullshit by working on this right before an election where Democrats are accusing Trump of being a facist. I guess I'm willing to look past the optics of it, because the policy looks good.

I dunno. This looks like a peaceful beatdown to me. What does CNN think?

Is this what you're alluding to?

https://thedonald.win/p/11PVkP0Qqc/snopes-is-at-it-again/c/

It's a shitpost. It's fake. Snopes didn't actually publish this. But if people see this meme they might think they actually said this.

This is good if they're really saying this. That means we're past denial. This looks like we're into bargaining?

Definitely missing context. In my neck of the woods, law enforcement is supposed to "educate and inform" people about masks before issuing citations. I can see how blue shirt guy might get a free pass because he accepts the mask and presumably puts it on. If the camera guy told the police to fuck off when they offered him a mask, I can see how this would escalate to this.

More information would be better of course

This is bananas. Are these people trapped in some far left news vortex distorting reality? Or am I the one being brainwashed by right wing nut jobs on Youtube?

Even if Trump concedes, his supporters may not and we'll see riots and other bullshit from them.

Fucking what!? WE'RE the rioters now!? Did they miss the part where BLM defended looting? or where protesters chanted "We hope they die" while blocking ambulances?

I'm terrified Trump will win and the new SCOTUS will immediately begin dismantling the last 100 years of civil rights progress.

Are we the ones sponsoring the amendment to allow the government to discriminate against people based on race? Or is it the Democrats?

"Oh wow. I was going to vote for Trump, but after hearing the political opinion of my software vendor, I'm going to switch it up for Joe."

Was it really that cringe? I didn't watch it, but I thought the idea was pretty rad. Streaming video games is the super down to earth and could give politicians the ability to speak directly to Americans without going through the media. Like Trump uses Twitter for.

I think it'd be really cool to see streams with a bunch of politicians form across the aisle just playing dumb games together. It'd be humanizing and might be a good way to bring ANY unity and civility back.

I find this pretty uplifting! I'm in greater Chicagoland and I thought I was alone, but there's actually quite a few people around me that donated. Maybe I should use this list to find friends.

Me too. I bought a hat in 2016 and am not on the list. Maybe hat sales are different from direct donations? I have no idea.

Counter proposal:

  1. We win the election.
  2. We pack the courts with 3 more justices.
  3. We pass this amendment.
  4. Trump gets rid of the 3 liberal justices to comply with the 9 justice limit rule we just passed.

Then all 9 justices are ours and Trump picked 6 of them himself. Big brain move. 😎😎😎😎

He sounds damn near abusive to forbid you from talking politics or having social media. Who does he think he is forbidding you from things? We're not dealing with liberalism anymore. Forbidding you from discussing politics is the most illiberal thing ever. This is insanity.

I'm glad to hear you're free. Good luck getting back on your feet.

I'm hoping we see .win take off as an alternative to reddit that will succeed where Voat never did while maintaining the light moderation that tolerates unpopular ideas.

Tolerating controversial opinions was why I originally loved reddit. Then reddit became more mainstream and "Reddiquette" became an unknown concept. Then people started downvoting dissenting opinions - so the system silenced the victims and created an echo chamber that continues to pull hard left.

I'd be perfectly happy to see us continue on without the voting culture that plagues reddit.

Does this online portal allow you to mark a ballot though?

People are alleging that the Oregon online tool allowed you to mark ballots. My state, Illinois, has a portal where you can enter this information to determine:

A. If you're registered or not.

B. Where your polling place is

C. What voting districts or whatever your in

Viewing that information seems reasonable for the inputs you put in. Changing your ballot should not be allowed from this information.

I read through his plan today, the Contract with Black America, some of it is fine. Stuff about ending the war on drugs and private prisons are perfectly great. But then there's stuff like:

  • Granting Black people and only Black people, a one-time interest free home loan
  • Mandating that broadcast networks have a minimum of 20% of their content be produce by Black people (That's disproportionately higher than other races. Their plan points out that America's population is 13.4% Black).
  • "Lynching to become a federal hate crime". They don't define "lynching". I assume that includes all fatal incidents with police without regard to the context of the situation.

And then there's this interview, in which Ice Cube frequently points out that his plan is for Black Americans, and intentionally excludes other minorities. I honestly don't get how anyone finds this acceptable.

the bullet should be aimed to wound and disarm, not to execute them.

Great ideas from Reddit. If the taser didn't work, the officer could escalate to shooting Mr. Stabby in the thumb in such a way that his thumb would be too sore to stab again. If the officer can't hit him in the thumb with his first round while running behind the guy 20 feet away, maybe we should defund the police so they can have less training. That will lead to better outcomes.
