No one outside here will think its strange that the pandemic has halted in person meetings even for world leaders
A lot of coincidences doesn't make it conspiracy. A lot of high profile shareholders of these companies, does not make them all acquainted.
I would be surprised, however, if larger groups of people with similar incentives were not connected and in some way controlling this.
I doubt there is a central planner, and what I learned in Thinking Strategically by Dixit and Nalebuff is that many groups optimizing for themselves create unpredictable outcomes.
I would be surprised if there was not a rational, logical (though possibly incorrect) way of connecting everything.
What I do know: 2020 is one of those few years that can be labeled, "The year that changed the world"

One portion of people say that we need to vote people out in 2022, and vote R for 2024. Another portion says that votes don't matter because the elections are rigged so screw 2022 and 2024.
