I think I can see what you mean. To clarify-- the constitution is designed to provide for religious freedom, it has a Christian bias, but it should not favor one religion over another (catholicism in this case).
Catholicism is essentially a monarchy and doing everything the pope says is no different than the church usurping power from the monarchy like happened all throughout the middle ages.
I'm wary of anyone who places their religious views over the constitution. We are a nation founded on Christian values and those values should guide us, but the constitution is law.

I disagree that she was generally a person of integrity. I think for the sake of the future of the nation and the constitution itself we need to be willing to call her out for blatantly politicizing a position that is not political, and for selfishly holding onto that position when she was incapable of performing the duties of it. Frankly, it's disgusting.
As evidenced by the fact that her supposed dying wish to her granddaughter was to put the entire US on hold. All for one person. Let's also not forget this is coming from a SCOTUS Justice who is supposed to be impartial and uphold the constitution.

I think Trump has known this all along and did the things he did in order to buy time to do a real assessment on the danger of the virus. It's understandable why he took such drastic measures when you consider this. As soon as it became apparent that the virus was not as deadly as once thought Trump reversed course. Problem is the media kept running with the numbers and governors didn't want to look bad, so now we sit where we sit.

The very values the constitution seeks to protect are Christian values. As opposed to Muslim or Taoist or Buddhist or native American. This fact is obvious but if you care to do any further reading on it there are plenty of books on the subject.
