I was watching The Dark Knight Rises last night with my girlfriend (she loves tha action flicks) and we got to the scene where Bruce Wayne (batman, for those who don't know) is in the Black Hole prison that Bane supposedly escaped out of.

What struck me as interesting is these people were completely without hope. They were hopelessly oppressed. They had no way out. . . or so they thought.

When Bruce Wayne made the jump with no rope, everyone there suddenly had hope. They were cheering him on. They had a gleam in their eyes. They couldn't wait to see someone succeed in resisting the dark hold of oppression on their lives.

I thought about this and realized these are basically lockdowns. I mean look around you. People are angry, scared, depressed, and have no hope in thier eyes. They're starving, thirsty, broke, have no place to go, and have no idea what to do.

But then Bruce Wayne escaped. See. He had a dream. He had a vision. "Save my burning city." His city was falling apart and he, unlike everyone else, was gonna do something about it.

Now, Bruce, unlike us, was almost completely alone. But we can all come together and politely and nonviolently tell the government they can eat their lockdown orders. We can fight in the courts. We can open up our businesses and have the press film us being dragged away.

We can go about business as it used to be usual. We can stand up. We can defend ourselves when the Antifa mob strikes. We can nonviolently tell the local government they have no right to lock up innocent people in their homes who don't have Covid. We can demand at-home testing which has existed since march. We can breathe however the fuck we want to breathe. And we can also be responsible and build a peaceful, nonviolent society by telling the establishment their lockdowns will not be tolerated. We can be the hope for the prisoners in the black hole.

tl/dr: we can BE THE HOPE FOR A BETTER WORLD.
