We are to emulate Christ. Christ wasn't married, therefore marriage is heresy.

You have to engage your brain and think clearly. Obviously what I said isn't true, but wrong thinking leads to wrong teaching and wrong behavior.

You think everyone is going to burn in hell because they don't ascribe to your traditions that came from men. That is wrong teaching.

The only way men can be saved is through Christ alone. Not through faith a church, regardless of whether or not he established it. Not through sacramental traditions, regardless of whether or not Christ established it, but through faith in Christ.

All those other things may follow as evidence of faith, but they do not prove faith. How many good Catholics are risking their souls checking off lists of meaningless traditions without faith?

Jesus didn't say to get married, he didn't even say to get baptized (though beleivers should be baptized).

And still, none of those cover righteousness. You have no idea what's in God's word, do you?

You've successfully named the only sacrament with a foundation in scripture.

Yet that sacrament still does not confer righteousness onto those who partake of it, which is what your church teaches.

My comment wasn't a straw man -- it's just acknowledging reality. God didn't communicate with the intent of being impossible to understand.

If the spirit of God feels within His faithful, why would I need you, your church, or your traditions to know the meaning of scripture? It isn't a magical book, it was written with the intent of being understood.

At this point, you're just beating the crap out of straw men.

The hateful part was making a mockery out of what you believe to be the damnation of another soul.

If you believe that the only way to be saved is to become a Catholic, then I would absolutely expect you to speak up about it.

You assume that the Catholic Church that exists today is the same church that Christ founded, and that is where I will disagree with you. The rejection of substitutionary atonement and the conference of righteousness through the sacraments are plainly counter scriptural teaching held by the Catholic and Orthodox churches.

Righteousness is credited by faith in God, Jesus and the apostles make this clear. The apostles themselves said that if another apostle or even an angel comes with a different gospel than Christ's, then he should be cast out.

Scripture leaves me with no choice but to reject teaching that says only their church can provide righteousness, when scripture clearly says otherwise. Righteousness is from God alone, not from any church.

You opened up with the chief heresy of the Catholics -- regarding the words of man as greater than the words of God.

"Work out your own salvation, with fear and trembling"

We can't rely on any authority to keep us in communion with God. They will all eventually fail us, just as we will all personally fail. In the end, when the Lamb's Book of Life is opened, whether or not your name is there is NOT dependent on who led your church -- it depends on Christ's grace, and your acceptance of it.

"By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?", Jesus said.

There are many good and faithful people in the Catholic church, but it was the CATHOLIC CHURCH that sowed the seeds of schism. The church's own unchecked evil and heresy tore it apart. Catholics that claim the sole means to fellowship with God are plainly hypocritical.

Only Jesus saves your soul. Any catholic faithful in good standing with God are there because of the Christ's love and grace, not because of the heretical teaching that church affirms. Most Catholics do not have a solid understanding of their own church's doctrine, which is a credit to them.
