Hi! Thank you for replying. I am actually a Journalism Grad student at CUNY, working on my capstone on fact-checking and misinformation. I have worked as an intern in Turkey for a fact-checking organization called Teyit. They mostly fact-check viral news that is trending online, and that is where I got into this field.
As for credibility, I find them credible because of their sources. I would quickly read an article, then move on to looking at the sources they provide to make my own decision on the topic. I don't trust media outlets to fact-check everything completely, so I would always look at the sources.
Snopes is getting a lot of negative feedback from people, and I understand that. What do you think about other fact-checking platforms? Do you have any that you would trust, not blindly, of course?

Yes, Snopes does have a history in debunking things like the loch ness monster and other urban myths, and since then they have started to debunk Viral news that they feel need debunking. If you don't mind me asking, do you follow any fact-checking media outlets? And in what way do you think these news outlets do not have qualifications?
Hi, thank you for your answer! It is really important to do your own fact-checking, I believe that the more are taught to do fact-checking and be media literate the better. And, I think we would not need fact-checkers if everyone would think twice before sharing something online!
You said you don't need journalists, if you don't mind me asking, do you follow any kind of news organization? Or do you tend to stay away from news in general?
Hey, thank you for your answer! Yes, I understand Snopes is raising some eyebrows when it comes to political leaning, I have seen this complaint a lot. What are your thoughts on other fact-checking sites such as FactCheck.org or Politifact? From what I have found, Snopes does get the most backlash when it comes to political leaning, but the rest don't get as much! And do you have any fact-checking organizations you do trust?
