I’m a teacher. Most of the coworkers I interact with are based, but many (especially elementary level) seem to be in a contest to see who can work the most hours for free and spend the most money buying things for their students while bragging about it on social media. White savior complex is rampant in those schools, and they all teach that Columbus was evil, the natives were not savages who scalped and murdered one another, but were peaceful hunters and farmers, and teach in a way to imply that slavery was practically invented by the American colonists.

Obviously I’m generalizing an enormous group based off a few hundred observations, but from an insider perspective, I worry for my own children. I plan to correct or supplement my daughter’s lessons when she starts school next year.

Also, side rant: why the fuck is The Rainbow Fish so fucking painful to read as an adult? I remembered it being a nice book as a young kid, but now I can see what that commi author was really telling gifted special children to give away all that makes them unique and special and become as average as possible.

They have a short attention span. It won’t matter. In 4 years they will be promised a few crumbs and they will continue to vote for their abusers.

Impeachment is now political theatre. Whoever has the numbers can impeach any president who doesn’t listen to Congress without the slightest investigation or hearing to prove guilt.

Teacher here. You right. Little to no notice that they need to find childcare because the school wants to shut down for a day. Sounds cute and nice, but I don’t envy the single parents who need to go to work that day.

I’m a teacher. This sounds great, but there are a ton of parents who just found out they have to find last minute childcare or they will miss work. It’s why schools can’t shut down for covid again. We have an outbreak at an elementary school right now and they only told one grade level to stay home. Parents need the coverage because our country can’t afford to pay one breadwinner enough to support the whole family anymore.

They absolutely would block those image submissions as well and request a new one without a prop. The problem with allowing any wiggle room on the rules is it opens the floodgates to other students doing the same thing and parents complaining about pref. Treatment.

Dunno why this was posted. The school just told her to send another image for yearbook not including a prop. She wasn’t suspended or something more dramatic. Also people are making a good point about US flag codes.

I was on board for this case because I think there needs to be preference outlawing/banning universal mail in ballots.

This case never focused on my biggest problem with 2020 election which is widespread meddling in the election and the failure of the states in question to provide transparency in the gathering, verification, and counting of votes.

Okay, so the SCOTUS won’t get rid of mail in ballots and make this easy... what I REALLY want is for someone to FORCE those states to audit those ballots and actually listen to evidence of fraud occurring. None of us will ever accept this election if they don’t prove to us that Biden actually won this thing.

If they have nothing to hide and truly want us to COPE, then they should shut us up by verifying signatures and matches in the voter registry.
