Nah fuck that. Me and all my teacher friends want to go back but they gotta get rid of the 6ft rule so we can pack them all in together.

It’s the fucking China flu. We deal with it every year. Teachers have the best fucking immunity systems after being around nasty kids all day. Schools should have never shut down.

You will be forced to realize the primary function of schools today is not to educate (that is secondary), but instead to free up both parents to go work so they can be paid less combined than what a single spouse use to take home on their own.

My county paid the same $ for school lunches during pandemic. Half of the lunches were made but they DELIVERED each lunch eating up the rest of the budget.

Teacher here. I’m working my ass off to plan/remake my materials so that they can be done remotely when I just wanna be able to print it all out. On top of teaching online all day, I also have students in person 4 days a week. No defense for some states banning students from entering school., that shit should be illegal. Ours is online optional and 2day a week for in-person students until they relax our restrictions on 6ft (not possible with my 32 students per class).

With that being said, bussing costs are massive each year and they are way down due to covid, more than just the 20% from attending school 1 less day a week. School lunch waste (yeah waste... half gets thrown away thanks Obama’s) is way down since half our students are absent each day. Some of our budget goes towards hiring additional staff for our poor community and since we have smaller classes in person they saved that money by not hiring anyone. We are looking at a surplus this year at our school of 10-20k after buying a ton of new chromebooks for remote learning and this is just a small school of about 450 students. The big districts have to be saving millions. I’m all for refunding what’s not used, but i have already heard that we need to use it or lose it. Admin is fearful that returning money will impact their budgets the following year which obviously just encourages wasteful spending.

Keep paying the teachers. It’s a shitty argument to say they aren’t working because you have to be in the same room while your children listen to us on the computer. But damn it, if there is money leftover don’t throw it at the fucking vampire textbook monopolies and online retailers, send it back to the communities!

We should totally take this “negative” press and own it. It’s effective. The wall makes it harder to enter illegally by providing a deterrent and punishment for those who do try to climb it.

This is what we wanted when we built that wall and I sincerely hope the people considering the climb decide to apply to do it the legal way instead.

I haven’t seen data by county yet, but I visit wilmington frequently and it was 50/50. Lot of the college kids voted at home and actual residents seemed more based. Crazy amount of trump boaters.

Nobody in NC is fleeing the right... they might be leaving the GOP because we support Trump now. We are still split 50/50 because of a few urban areas that are heavy liberal, but we almost always come out red ahead.

As for Butt, he is done. Gonna replace him with Lara Trump hopefully.

Am I reading this wrong? Looks like he is adding to the debt but just at a slower pace than the others... at no point did it look like we would have a surplus.

Protestors weren’t rioting, they were just fortifying the dome.

Was this article supposed to make us hate her for calling out David Hogg as a fake victim activist? I missed her saying this quote and now I like her more. Reminds me how much I hate David Hogg

We never get snow here, if we did then buses would not run and my students wouldn’t show up for virtual class anyways.

Not true at all. The doors are open, schools are begging for subs and people with some background/degree in subjects like math, science, or literature to come teach and nobody wants to take those jobs up because the pay is so low compared to using your degree in that actual field, plus the job is much more demanding than anyone wants to admit.

Because nobody wants to do that job... it is pretty shitty even with the perks added. Trust me I know.

I don’t find anorexia attractive, but I definitely prefer it to whatever is wrong with the thing on the right.

Leftist don’t watch live coverage. They wait for the “experts” at CNN to break it down for them so they don’t have to form an opinion. We enjoyed watching Trump live because he was high energy and would send protesters home to their mommas. Biden is just boring, senile, and creepy so nobody tunes in.

Damn... that vertical decline is almost the exact opposite of election night around 2AM

Shouldn’t the article have called him a infantrywoman?

I’m a teacher. Most of the coworkers I interact with are based, but many (especially elementary level) seem to be in a contest to see who can work the most hours for free and spend the most money buying things for their students while bragging about it on social media. White savior complex is rampant in those schools, and they all teach that Columbus was evil, the natives were not savages who scalped and murdered one another, but were peaceful hunters and farmers, and teach in a way to imply that slavery was practically invented by the American colonists.

Obviously I’m generalizing an enormous group based off a few hundred observations, but from an insider perspective, I worry for my own children. I plan to correct or supplement my daughter’s lessons when she starts school next year.

Also, side rant: why the fuck is The Rainbow Fish so fucking painful to read as an adult? I remembered it being a nice book as a young kid, but now I can see what that commi author was really telling gifted special children to give away all that makes them unique and special and become as average as possible.

They have a short attention span. It won’t matter. In 4 years they will be promised a few crumbs and they will continue to vote for their abusers.

Impeachment is now political theatre. Whoever has the numbers can impeach any president who doesn’t listen to Congress without the slightest investigation or hearing to prove guilt.

Are we sure he isn’t political prisoner and that someone else hasn’t typed this to get people to stand down as the coup commences?

They let us in to stop the challenges. They wanted protesters inside but not too far in. When one tried to climb through door and didn’t stop like they demanded, they killed her to send a message to stop advancing. Nothing is accomplished by the storming of the capital except the enemy got to silence challenges. They played us against ourselves.
