No thanks. A few hundred years back, when King James called together his group of 54 “scholars” to alter the Church’s Bible to align with his Protestant dogmas, they made over 30,000 changes to the word of God and removed the 7 deuterocanonical books of sacred scripture. KJV is a hop skip and jump away from the Book of Mormon. Douay Rheims all day.
Either way for someone who I imagine follows the manmade doctrine of sola scriptura, you sure do add a lot of extra words and stuff into your Protestants translations. You say no man can be good. And site a scripture with some rigid interpretation. Yet when scripture clearly describe certain men as good. You add all this extra stuff to the verse that’s not there and then basically back track and say man can be good, I guess. I agree that all goodness is by the grace of God. Posting stuff like “no men are good” (to undercut the holy men and women who have martyred themselves or given up everything so we can better come to understand God through ALL of his revelations) and then clarifying later to say no men are good with out the grace of God is just not great apologetics.
It’s just like having an aunt who thinks she dating a rich oilman who works in Africa she met on Facebook that she’s never met or FaceTime. There’s no talking her out of it until she wire transfers her life savings always.
For anyone interested in the Marxist infiltration of the clergy, check out Bela Dodd. She put 20,000 commie priests through the seminary.
For as much as we gripe about the infiltration of the Church and the tragedy of so many being led astray, the laity has also played a role by committing so many sins against the Eucharist. Receiving when their soul was not in a state of Grace “ 1 Corinthians 11:27–29 (RSVCE): Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. 29 For any one who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself.”
Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen
Oh shit I thought the dude from Georgia being a phony was the big drop. I was thinking, cool, but dude was popping and locking over this? Hopefully this next drop is “hiring mentally ill people to instigate people at trump rallies” level spicy
Sorry brother. It was the Protestants who walked away. Started making stuff up that wasn’t in the Bible and is actually refuted in scripture (sola sciptura) removed books from the Bible, interpreted things incorrectly, added words in (Luther added the word only in regards to “faith only”. It’s Protestants that have gay weddings now, female ministers, support abortion and contraception.
How many times did Jesus say “it was written” and then follow that up with “BUT I TELL YOU”?...
By what authority did you arrive on the fact that there are 27 books in the New Testament? How do you know it to be true that the 27 books in the NT are the only things to be the word of God or God breathed?
There are a lot of people who can do a pretty damn good Trump impression.
