Texas could easily grow north in a straight line up to Canadia - OK, KS, NE, SD, ND - then 1 block east LA, AR, MO... assume a straight line east from there to include all of the old south (save maybe VA?) - Moving west from the MW pillar, WY, MT and ID seem sure-things... in terms of land-mass, that's a majority of the continental states - of course AK nearly doubles that land-mass. - The new nation would be larger than the one from whence it seceded.
