The one place left where we can make a difference is by voting with our wallet. The American consumer still has a vast amount of purchasing power in the world, and we could collectively cripple China if we all refused to buy anything made there.
Here is a list of the most common items that are manufactured in China. If you or your business deals with these items, double check on who the suppliers are and avoid anything linked to China. https://www.sourcify.com/the-top-10-products-manufactured-in-china-in-2018/
Bonus for my fellow ladies here: the makeup and beauty industry is worth billions of dollars a year. In this case, purchasing a makeup product made in China would have serious ramifications due to the lack of ethics involved in producing said product, and it would likely contain toxic ingredients as well. Here is an article listing all the makeup brands made in China which should be avoided as much as possible: https://medium.com/@Uhapibeauty/makeup-made-in-china-fc4a33f80d08

Feel free to comment with more links to American products that should be bought as alternatives!
So, I made a post a couple of days ago talking about possibly using tactics from the Hong Kong protests in case all other paths failed. But upon thinking about it some more, I don’t think it would work except in urban areas, and most of the Trump-voting counties are either suburban or rural. Also, it is apparent that the police in DC and in most other urban areas is deeply corrupt and would do nothing to help.
What I now believe would be a much better idea is not for us to go to them - but for them to come to us. Some Democrats have already seriously proposed making lists of Trump supporters and rounding them up. We should encourage this, as it makes them the targets instead. Within each town or community, there should be teams of patriots divided into different tasks - for example a team monitoring communications and surveillance data to alert others in advance to get into position, a team well-trained with weapons, a team handling first aid, etc.
I have been seeing numerous references to going to the 4th box, 2A, etc. However, it is not realistic to simply just go out there and start shooting up random people. I would strongly advise looking into the Hong Kong protest tactics in order to really make the people’s voices heard - and the people here are armed, which gives them a huge advantage over the protesters in Hong Kong.
As a pede of Chinese descent, I have heard and read a lot about Hong Kong. From what I’ve gathered, several things are essential:
-
A clear and concise list of demands
-
Decentralized leadership: the Hong Kong protestors organized and communicated among themselves using encrypted messaging apps. Rather than receiving orders from a single figure that authorities could easily take out or pin the blame on, the protests can be best described as many separate groups all coming together at once
-
Gather in places where the most impact can be felt, even by the average unconcerned citizen. In Hong Kong, this meant blocking entrances in airports, subway stations, other critical infrastructure, etc.
-
Protestor groups should be organized into front-line and back-line roles, where the front-liners would be armed and wearing protective gear, and the back-liners would be people like medics, nurses, volunteers distributing food and water, etc.
Perhaps it may be worth considering reaching out to some pedes in Hong Kong and learning more about what they have done.
Unfortunately my family was not eligible to vote in this past election as we are non-citizens (we would have voted Trump if we could, though), but we received mail-in ballots anyway. We threw them away since we actually follow the laws, but it greatly alarmed me that they could just send ballots to anyone and everyone without even checking if they were eligible to vote in the first place. Is there any way to find out if there were people in our position who voted when they shouldn’t have?
