If you ask me, this story shows that it’s all of those things. They’re corrupt, but they’re so incompetent about it that they’re just blatantly entrapping people, either thinking that they’ve covered their asses or that they don’t need to. Either conclusion being that of a corrupt incompetent.
One BSL4 lab in all of China. They do gain of function testing at this lab, specifically adding proteins to coronaviruses that have never been transmissible to humans. It’s in Wuhan. There is absolutely nothing anyone can ever say to make me believe the simple explanation is that a random mutation never before seen in nature just happened in the same town with this lab.
Even the smart ones. I have a friend, currently living in SF, with whom entire discussions have been derailed because I said something about something one of Obama’s czars had done. She got in a huff about the word czar like it’s not a thing. This has happened twice since she became an adult. If you don’t know basics of the world around you, you’re not qualified to have an opinion on it.

If someone actually believes that people are SO low IQ that calling it the China virus and saying it came from China leads to people beating up Asian Americans, then I’d put that person’s IQ at about 85.
