Overt physical or audible threats? Have you ever been in a fire fight? Been shot at? Had to shoot back? I have - some real doozies too - and you know what doesn't happen right before they pop off? The other person doesn't say "Hey get ready, im gonna start shooting at you now." What DOES happen, especially as you get into more of them, is you get a feeling. Your body dumps adrenaline in to your veins for no reason, and then, if your lucky, you become consciously aware of what your unconscious mind picked up on. Small non verbal cues that shits about to get real. Maybe someone seems a bit too twitchy, their eyes keep darting to a certain spot somewhere, they tense up or ball their fists, start breathing rapidly - and you hope to God, that when they make their move, that you are able to move just a little quicker, and a little more accurately. The only mistake this officer made was even considering her taser as a viable option, and if these wanna be gang bangers would stop fucking around - well, they'd stop finding out.
Oh the cop fucked up, but not by killing this guy - the absolute incompetence she showed by calling Taser AFTER her firearm was already in her hands leads me to believe it was only a matter of time before she had a negligent discharge. Now, had her conscious decision been to go for her sidearm and not her taser I believe this shoot would have been clean. This guy could have easily been going for a gun. Having been in many situations where I had to decide in a split second whether to pull the trigger or not, my gut tells me that I would have also shot him.
It's not an execution, but actually, you CAN shoot them. Any sudden movements can (and should) be construed as an attempt to draw a weapon. It's not a game. These situations can turn deadly in a split second. Dobt wanna be shot by the cops? Don't act like a retard, and follow commands.
You know Pedes, this might actually be a GOOD thing - the crazier gun control they try to enact, the easier it will be to strike down as unconstitutional in court - we might be able to force a SCOTUS ruling. Not that I plan on complying regardless....

That level of thinking has come about only because we are too comfortable. Now is the time to reaffirm that great American belief that YES - it IS better to die on your feet than live in your knees.
