Both are bad. You shouldn't storm the capitol and you shouldn't burn stuff down. Trump never said burn stuff down. It was supposed to be a peaceful protest and people took it too far. Sadly, lives were lost today. Please stop and I pray everyone is safe.
By the way, I should add I don't advocate for rioting and civil unrest, I'm merely pointing out that they want people to riot to make Trump's supporters look worse. Don't riot and storm the capitol. I said it when it started happening that people shouldn't do it and they should stop.
I think he realised it was hopeless today when even Pence was against him. What could he do? Rile up the crowd and be blamed for riots and a possible revolution? Not a good outcome for him, he likely wants to be remembered as a good President, not a revolutionary.
It's because he knew he had to expand his base if he wanted to win a second term. He had his base on lock in terms of voting for him again, the next step was convincing more people to join, why is that so hard for people to understand?
Most people who are Christians who actively go to church, go for a reason.
It's to either disguise their true evil, they use it as a veil or an excuse for why they can't do bad things.
Or they go to try and convince themselves they are doing good things or are good people, even though deep down they know they're doing bad things.
Almost everyone I've met who's super religious and goes to church weekly has some sort of demons and are the worst kinds of people, they pretend to be super nice and caring but will do anything to absolutely mess with you if they can.
Almost everyone I meet who believes but doesn't go on the regular every weekend or whatever is a normal person and has some problems, but nothing major or alarming, like they might be an alcoholic or take drugs. But yeah basically find people who believe (go to chruch during big events like Easter, Christmas etc) but aren't bible bashers.
I really think Trump's play was to prove it was him alone on a hill and that you couldn't trust anyone else. When the chips were down some Congress people supported him, but even then Loeffler and Perdue for instance, had nothing to lose after they basically had their races lost. But his own VP and others did not like SCOTUS who exposed themselves. With all those snakes around him, Trump had an effective and excellent Presidency with the best economy and major comebacks. Effectively, it was Trump broadcasting his final stand as President, exposing the wolves amongst him, he was alone on the hill ready to lose. You could tell from his speech today, he already knew he lost.
Even so, do you really think his Cabinet would let him go through with the Insurrection Act stuff? Honestly, you got to understand that this was likely Trump's best play if he thought his Cabinet would turn on him.
Bro even the military is full of turncoats. Look at Mattis. If Flynn was still there I might have had faith he could maybe convince the military to side with Trump, but who does he have to help him keep the military on side. Just face it, it's over Trump's lost power effectively. He may still have it, but the next 13 days are basically a lame duck President.
We trust Kayleigh why? If you asked me weeks ago, sure. But whos to say Kayleigh is even in control of that account anymore or that Trump is even in control of his Twitter anymore. There's so much disinfo and plotting going on that unless I see Trump with my own eyes, I have no idea what the hell is going on.
Whats the bet that Pence "recommended" these picks and has been influencing Trump as Ryan's surrogate under the guise he's there to "help" Trump. honestly, there's nothing I wouldn't believe these days. Not saying this happened, but if it was true, I'd honestly not be surprised.
Trump just put out a video asking people to go home on Twitter too, with deep fakes and AI these days, who's to know if that's even really Trump. Could be old footage that was from another take, re-dubbed over with a voice AI or some sort of advanced DARPA tech. I'm not saying thats the case, but just because you see something on video, doesn't mean its true.
Welcome to the Presidency, you're powerless. Disagree with most of your cabinet? 25th Amendment.
Disagree with most of Congress? Impeached.
Want to Veto a bill? Cool, but then Congress can just override you.
Want someone in a specific position? Too bad, the Senate didn't confirm them.
Want the DOJ to do something to arrest criminals? Oh too bad, you can't interfere with criminal investigations or use your office to enforce the law.
Want a cabinet member to do as instructed? Oh looks like they just ignore you till they're fired.
Want to serve the people as a popular President for multiple years? Oh look, you only get two terms.
The Presidency is a total joke and meaningless, it has next to no power because the founders were too worried about giving authority to one person, plus there has been many amendments to prevent the consolidation of power. The problem is when the President isn't controlled or corrupt, their hands are tied and they're useless. If you're a President without both chambers of the legislature in your favor, you're basically there to do nothing but sign the shitty bills that come out of Congress, even if you Veto them they can just overrule you. But I suppose these checks and balances are great when you have a terrible President like Obama or Joe, not that it really applies to them anyways.
If you keep thinking that way you're going to incite people to do bad things. Dude just stop, it was never cool. Biden's going to be President and just peacefully accept it. Look to 2022 and 2024 elections, best chance you've got at Biden leaving office, even if there's low confidence of them being fair. Maybe in 4 years time voting systems change? I dunno. Gotta be optimistic about something and that the law is upheld.
