Wokies have been doing this slandering of historical figures in the fringes for years and now have gone mainstream. I remember in college when we learned about Neitzche and Kant, how an occasional lefty would protest ‘why we are learning about all these dead white guys who did bad things?’ We paid them no mind back then.
Now they have systemically infiltrated every institution, become professors, social organizers, and journalists. They make every political leader comply on the threat of calling them racist if they don’t. And everyone let’s them get away with it because they buy into the guilt and identity politics.
Guys like me (at least in liberal cities) are few and far between. We have no power and just fade away. Our police chief just got sick of being on trial everyday for doing his job and retired. I’m about to move to a red state. That’s what I mean by fading away.

I work at a liberal city managing grounds and the Council just cratered to the woke mob and voted to remove a GW stature from the public square. I have the unfortunate assignment of relocating it to another city building to live in some corner. I am putting it off and basically gonna tell them to find someone else to do it at the expense of my career.
On top of that they are making a plaque to accompany it that will talk about how he was a brutal slaveholder and land grabber that was written by some university professors.
