Well when I say Europeans were stupid, I mean the monarchies. They were all inbred idiots honestly.
The artillery pieces bit was the single most crazy AND genius aspect of it. As freaking awesome as winged hussars are, it was cannons from above that probably inspired the concept of the AC-130 gunship and just massacred the Turks. It would be a beautiful thing to see irl, if it wasn't so gruesome.

I guess you could refer to them as "Imperial forces", as in the HRE, though most of Europe didn't call them that. It was more that the Ottomans invaded and the forces in Vienna were pretty much stuck in place under the belief that they could hold out indefinitely. Gun powder kind of swayed that reality.
The HRE Emperor Leopold I "beseeched" I think is the word, other leaders in Europe to come to its defense and was mostly met with "yeah good luck bro". Which is unfortunate considering had Vienna fallen, the heart of Europe would likely have too. Europeans are not known for being smart. I hate to say it, they just aren't.
Begrudgingly, because they understood the threat, Poland got involved. Maybe as an effort to contain the threat on its own borders. A giant defeat of the Ottomans certainly helped them, so why not. But it was supposed to involve a "league" of several kingdoms, and it didn't. They basically got stood up.
At any rate, they still pulled some crazy tactics out of their ass and sent the Turks packing and basically saved Europe and now hardly anyone remembers it.
Except Muslims. Oh they definitely remember that particular 9/11.
He was a badass, but a reluctant badass. I wouldn't give him too much credit for his "spirit". He sort of didn't want to have to do that whole Vienna thing since most leaders were not willing to help, but he did and then he was nearly sainted for it by the Pope.
And it's a good damned thing he did go there. Europe and all of our history might have been vastly different if he hadn't.
But they did crank out real men back then. An heroic time to be alive, but also a shitty time to be alive lol.

Two issues that Americans have overwhelmingly shifted on in the past 20 years are guns and abortion. People want their guns, and they don't like abortion.
A smart Democrat would just not talk about them. Play the middle a bit, say you aren't coming for guns, and you're not trying to overturn Roe v Wade, and leave it at that.
But nope. Biden says what a tiny percentage of his base wants to hear. The loudest bunch. And completely ignores what most Americans want.
One more reason why he will lose.
Most people don't know that there was once a vast kingdom (really an empire) called Poland-Lithuania, and that their armies were the most feared in Europe for centuries. It lasted in all but name for like 400 years (from the personal union from the marriage of Grand Duke Jogaila and Queen Hedwig of Poland in the 1380s to 1795 in the Third Partition) and encompassed almost all of Eastern Europe.
Later wars and stupid monarchs being stupid tore it apart and today both Poland and Lithuania are seen as minor nations, but their people are still pretty damned proud.
I can confirm that, at least outside of Baltimore (and I try to not go into Baltimore much), Maryland is based as hell right now.
LOTS of Trump signs and flags. PA, OH, KY, MI, even VA it's the same. So many flags, it's crazy. I didn't see this in 2016.
Edit: I also want to point out that Maryland has a Republican governor. He's a bit too moderate for my taste and not really MAGA. But the fact is Maryland isn't afraid to vote for a Republican. I think there is an above average chance Maryland might actually go for Trump this time. And no, I am not crazy.
Maybe an unpopular opinion around here, but I kind of agree with him. We don't need this sort of intimidation stuff, as funny as it was. We are happy warriors and we are on the right side. We don't need to give the left ammo to use against us, because they can do a thousand worse things and nobody hears about it but we do one mild thing and it's front page news.
There is a time to say "F the moral high ground" and engage, but this was unnecessary. Leave the idiot bus alone and go vote.

It isn't just that. No terrorist group can accomplish anything unless they have support. Consider the worst terrorist group in recent times, Al Queida. They had massive public support in many majority Muslim countries. That is what allowed them to do what they did, why they are so hard to get rid of, and why they are so dangerous.
Antifa doesn't have that. They have billionaires that fund them and "intellectuals" that drive them, but they don't have much public support at all. They are astroturfed and they basically piss off EVERYONE. No matter how violent they may get, or even willing to die for their cause (they aren't), they'll never be anything but an annoyance and they'll never accomplish political change.
There's people like that in any group. It's human nature to mistrust or criticize anyone who isn't with them from the get go.
For the most part I think the MAGA community has embraced Tim. And watching his transition has been very enjoyable to see. He helps bridge a gap with people, and his "fence sitting" period has done more to red pill people than when he finally admitted he is voting for Trump.
The haters need to understand that.

I don't know why Scott Adams is buying the "we'll storm the White House and remove him!" crap. Antifa, as bad as they are, are really pathetic compared to previous communist groups. They need to be broken up as any terrorist organization should be, but they are hardly the danger they wish they were.
