I think you're reading way too much into an attempt at humor. The bottom line is I have zero interest in fighting sports. Sure I like to see the good punches and what not, but I find the matches incredibly boring overall and I absolutely hate judged sports. Never liked boxing or wrestling or mma.
The only fighting sport I think might be cool is if jousting was still a thing.
Maybe if combat sports always required a ko or tap out, I'd be more inclined.
