I suspect it will be Romney, Murkowski, and Collins who all vote against confirmation, which will cause a tie.
Vice President Pence is the tie-breaker.
But who knows? Romney might decide to play ball as he's already faced an effort in his own state to have him removed from office. It didn't work, but if he pisses of his constituents again, they might physically remove him this time.
"I think Bill Barr is doing a terrific job. He's finding a terrible establishment. " - President Trump
Ok Barr haters. Either President Trump is an idiot or he is right.
Which is it? Keep chinking away at our faith in this President. We know who you are and we are not discouraged by your concern trolling.
It never had that effect on me. I went a circuitous route. After the military, I spent 5 years at a steel mill before I finally ended up doing an R & D project for the DOE. But that was in the Midwest and also Oakridge, so I was always grounded socially in real America.
I now work for a private company even though I am in the DC area, and while many of our customers are government, not all are and I never got the indoctrination. But I understand it. Even as a contractor I saw that stuff filter in. It just didn't take with most of us.
There's plenty of teachers and government workers that go into that because of a sense of civic duty. I live in the DC area and pretty much all of my neighbors work in government. Some are leftist shills but plenty aren't.
The thing is, as soon as they get into that line of work they are inundated with leftist re-education. The benefits and the pay scale just make keeping your mouth shut and going along with it make more sense, especially if they feel they can make up for it by doing good in their work.
The problem is that over time they become a part of the overall system they once rolled their eyes at. They're in a bubble socially and professionally and nothing is allowed to penetrate that bubble so their common sense dulls over time.
People don't start out with these leftist concepts. It's a learned ideology that depends on shutting down any argument to the contrary. Otherwise good, intelligent people can be converted to a corrupt, self-destructive ideology without even realizing it.
That is what makes it so dangerous. The swamp is a machine. It does attract nasty swamp types, but its most powerful product is turning normal people into swamp creatures.
I don't plan on getting the vaccine personally. I did hear on the radio this morning a conservative journalist opted for the Pfizer vaccine trial and it went well for him, and he pointed out Bill Gates is suddenly questioning the vaccine and the FDA standards.
I'm guessing Gates missed out on this one.
This is why I'm not willing to go along with the Bill Barr hate crowd. No matter who you put in at AG, they still have to contend with most federal and state prosecutors being leftist political hacks.
The fact is, our government at all levels has been packed to the gills with leftists, especially in strategic areas. We can have the President and all of the cabinet positions, but it's still a constant battle with the government itself.
Most highway and small town fast food restaurants have flags. I don't see them in cities because it's probably not feasible to build the flag poles for them. I know of a Chick-fil-A in northern VA that has the US Flag and a Marine Corps flag.
It's a franchise owner decision to have flags.
Well for starters, many do have them. I drive a lot for work all over the country and McDs is my go to for coffee on the go (but not the food), and most on highway exits have American flags, sometimes a state flag, and there is even a McDonald's flag.
But McDonald's is a franchise. Flags and things like that are entirely up to the franchise owners. McDonald's can't order them all to remove flags. Even the idea of that is silly.
Lawsuits. We just need more lawsuits. Every network does more than enough to be sued into bankruptcy, just few take them to court.
Regulations are not the answer, as that can be abused. For example, leftists in government could regulate a news network like OAN out of existence. Keep it in the civil law arena.
The only difference between Donald Trump and almost everyone who has run for political office is that Mr Trump loves the American people.
It is one thing to say that you love America, as some nebulous entity to popularly be loved.
It's another thing to love Americans. This man does. And he will make some mistakes and could have done better on some things...but at this point we're describing a loving parent and not a politician.
First and foremost we need someone who knows how to run a large organization. No matter how well meaning someone is or even how experienced they are with law or law enforcement, it is critical that the next FBI director is an experienced executive who has the ability to reorganize a corrupt and dysfunctional bureaucracy.
I don't think Sidney Powell fits that role.
