Technically, it doesn't require a lot of people knowingly working with the Deep State to make the media it's propaganda tool. Just people in the right positions, and a lot of people who simply go along with things for selfish reasons or because they are weak.
It's far easier to find weak people than it is to find those who will knowingly be a part of a bad conspiracy. It's a lot safer for the conspirators to keep it to a small number of key people as well.
So it's believable to me that it really is just the upper echelon of our media that are complicit in the propaganda, and the rest are just tools.
Yep. Sears was the Amazon of it's day. It always amazes me that Sears didn't do the internet thing first before Amazon. Now Sears is toast and will be out of business eventually and Amazon is probably buying small countries.
The polls are BS. I thought we established this in 2016? There is zero reason to believe any of them this time around. Biden has no chance.
Yeah, obviously, talk to your friends. But I'm not listening to any polls. They're garbage.
Frankly, I don't think they know who is above all of this. And it's entirely possible (and likely) there isn't a specific "who". It seems more likely to me that there is a multitude of interests at work here. I've never believed in the idea that there are secret, dark cabals that pull the levers of power, but rather many wealthy and globally powerful people with personal agendas that often coincide with each other.
The real crime here is twofold. First, that there is an almost completely unaccountable government apparatus that has extremely dangerous levels of power over the citizens of this country. Second, that this apparatus gives access to people outside of government.
That alone is reason enough to shut it all down.
Looking through a few websites dealing with prices and things from that period, if your "crack shot" wannabe went with a Colt .45 "Peacemaker", he could get the gun itself for $17 (1870s) by catalog (which was a very popular way to get things at the time).
He could get a box of cartridges for as low as 50 cents. A box held 50 cartridges. He could order 1000 cartridges by catalog for $30, depending on the catalog and the year.
In 1870, the $17 for the gun would be equivalent to $336.24 in today's money.
At the cheap end, a penny per cartridge would be $10 per 1000, or $197.79 today.
At the top end, $30 per 1000 cartridges would be $593.36 today.
For perspective, the pay varied greatly. A typical ranch hand could make anywhere between $10 a month upwards of $30 a month on a big ranch, while a cowboy on cattle drives could make as much as $40 or even $50 a month. Added to that, most people weren't cowboys of any sort and a more typical wage for a basic laborer or farmhand was under $10 a month.
So, it seems reasonable for a hard working cowboy who is also tight with his cash to be able to afford plenty of ammunition to hone their shooting skills. But of course, most wouldn't (and didn't) bother.
Lawmen on the other hand, got paid better and also were given allotments for ammunition and weapons, as well as a long list of things they could expense.
U.S. Marshals had a base annual salary of $200, but got paid extra for every arrest, every mile they traveled in pursuit, investigation, or serving of warrants or subpoenas, as well as getting back expenses paid during such journeys (such as train fares).
This would put a good lawman at a distinct advantage if he wanted to be a "crack shot".
Pretty accurate except for the food part. The US is a net exporter of food, by far. The biggest in the world in fact.
But Communism would still destroy that by destroying the system that makes that possible, since that system runs on capitalism.
It is totally packed with information, but it's simply not a good documentary. It's not effective in that it isn't properly made for broad public consumption. The average person who doesn't keep up with all of this stuff is going to be mostly confused.
They really failed to connect everything in a seamless, easy to understand way or to break it up into specifically focused chunklets. It just goes back and forth like weaving a tangled mess. While that is a true picture of the reality of it (a tangled mess), that doesn't really help most people visualize what has been going on.
Any documentary should make a case for some overarching statement, and prove it in simple language to the viewer, as does a lawyer to a jury. This doesn't do that, unfortunately.
Just a quick look up on this reveals a "shot" was a term used well before the cowboy era (at least as far back as the 1600s in England) and had nothing to do with cartridges.
Cartridges were also a lot cheaper than whiskey in mid to late 1800s American West. A single cartridge cost a few pennies while a small glass of whiskey cost a couple dimes or so. This was very expensive compared to the cost of whiskey in the Eastern US where it was made.
The average cowboy didn't get to drink much whiskey often so it was splurging when they did, usually just after getting their pay, so bartering for it with bullets is pretty unlikely.
I disagree with his history books statement. That implies that the same people will always control the schools. Which means we'll never "win" and this whole MAGA thing is nothing more than a delaying action.
I believe we will win.
The US claims that Julian Assange actively requested classified information even going as far as instructing that Manning guy as to how to get it to wikileaks including cracking a password. Which by definition is espionage, not journalism.
Whether that's what really happened, I have no idea. If it is, then he did commit espionage against the US. If not, he should go free. Considering the people who went after him, I don't know what to believe.
Evil flocks with evil. There is no underlying pedophile conspiracy but rather a broad conspiracy of evil people who wish to upend a system that comes between them and their wretched desires.
Whether those desires are of an amoral sexual nature, a lust for absolute power, the ability to prey on the weak, or simply a belief in culling the human race of those who do not agree with them, they find themselves united in the cause of chaos.
The irony is of course, as Bolsheviks have discovered in the past, that once the revolution succeeds, most of these scummy people are eliminated by the new order they helped usher in.
Unfortunately I don't have numbers to go by this election since covid screwed up the primary. But my gut tells me this will be a landslide. I also think total votes cast will be far smaller than normal, as many may not like Trump but are really disillusioned with the Democrats and just aren't motivated to participate.
Those of us who support President Trump couldn't be kept from voting by anything. So it will be a landslide caused by a drastic difference in turnout.
Whether that's enough to flip a state like New York? I don't know, but it's not impossible.
That's the thing I appreciate the most about the man. And what convinces me daily of his being genuine.
He has zero to gain from any of it personally. Not even the biggest ego in history would consider being president worth it when also being the most publicly reviled person (by the media) in the world.
They all try to sell this idea that he only ran for personal gain, yet he's lost wealth and isn't going to get anything anyone could give him afterwards (which is when most politicians cash in).
And he's certainly not the thin-skinned narcissist they make him out to be either. Nobody like that could take the treatment he gets every day. Hell, an average person couldn't take it.
He's in this because he believes in our country and feels someone had to do something about what bad people in a corrupt system are doing to it. For him, this is service. And he needs to know that there are millions of us Americans who greatly appreciate that service.
Man, there's been talk of a coin shortage coming for two decades. Other than old people, most simply don't use coins except for vending machines. And when they added the ability to use plastic to those, it was just inevitable.
I'll admit, whenever I pay with cash, I just use bills and toss the change into this or that drawer I probably have a paycheck worth of coins in my house
Well, I wasn't advocating for a European system. In fact I am advocating for no parties at all. Candidate runs on their own merits. No allegiance to anything but their constituents.
I am not sure where you got "multiparty system" from that.
Considering China had developed incredible culture and technology during much of the ancient era of humanity, I think it is pretty clear what has been holding them back in the modern age...not broken culture, but communism. I agree with you...I do not want to see 400 million people wiped off the face of the earth just to stick it to the commies, because I know it won't be the commies that die. It's never the commies that die when their incompetence and evil cause catastrophe.
So unless that dam breaking takes out the CCP politburo, I am not wanting it to bust. I want it to leak and leak and leak and cause enough turmoil that the Chinese people say "WTF" and cause problems for their government. But I don't want millions to die.
When I went to the big 4th of July celebration in DC last year, it was completely SWARMED over with Trump supporters. And it was so "diverse" it would make the entire Left reeee forever if they had seen it. Even met some pedes there. DC itself is mostly full of shitbergs who either work for the Government or suck off its teet. But the surrounding area in MD and VA have plenty of Trump supporters.
Not enough to sway the election perhaps, we can't work miracles, but it's no small number. And with that said, nobody seems to be a proud Biden supporter. Biden is a "hold your nose" candidate for the Left.
I am pretty sure few around here believe there is a true two-party system. But the point stands. Even the illusion of a two-party system is enough to do the damage. The point is really about voter habits, not what the parties themselves do. Of course politicians of any stripe will be corrupted when they are not held accountable and can hid behind a party identity.
Well this particular "low level no name lawyer" was directly involved and took one of the criminal actions that spun off this whole thing. I'd say that's pretty significant if you're trying to build a case.
The Mafia wasn't taken out by running in and arresting all of the big bosses. They started with the workers. And it took years. Because you can arrest a boss, but he'll get off scott-free in a few hours.
It works the same way here. The "Deep State" really is the most powerful organized crime syndicate in history. It has to be approached that way.
