Honestly, most of these so-called "thugs" end up being pretty decent human beings, and it's usually just one or two that cause the problems.
It takes hard work to get to the D1 level of college football. These aren't slackers they recruit. Usually it's guys wanting to get the hell out of a bad situation.
Maybe you missed the part where most of the team supported the coach in this. Including the "room temperature IQ thugs".
They may not be academic giants, and when football was an all-white sport, those guys were never considered the smartest in the room either. But one thing that pretty much every player at that level has in common, regardless of race, is they understand the concept of hard work and what it takes to reach their goals.
It doesn't really matter. The media controls what most people see. And they were looking for any case they could use.
Even if the footage was released right away, the media would have shown snippets out of context (as they did with the knee video).
Take heart in the fact that at this point in time, even before this footage was leaked, a lot of people were already asking questions.
If the mail-in scheme is a cluster-F, then states who take part in it will basically lose their electoral votes. Effectively, if a state cannot get their shit together and supply Congress with a result, then they will not be counted. There is a deadline. The process will not stop because of some states. It can only be stopped, according to the 12th Amendment, if the counts are valid and there is no declared winner...generally as a result of 3 candidates or more. That has not been an issue since the amendment was put into place.
There is no losing path for President Trump unless Biden flat out wins the votes (which won't happen).
The Democrats know they cannot win this election. The strategy is not to win it, it is to create chaos. They simply want a 4-year long excuse as to why they lost, because at all costs they cannot admit they lost because of their message or their politics. That's it.
The Democrat party is a dying party. It is being torn apart from within by forces who desire a complete socialist or communist system to replace what exists in America, and the typical corrupt politicians who simply want whatever power they can get. All involved understand that at no point can their shortcomings become public knowledge.
The Marxist experiment in this country died the day President Trump won. And ever since it has been a massive scramble to save both the Democrat party and the political establishment. As great and special as President Trump may be, it is really the American people that have landed that death blow.
Rough times are ahead, but we are winning, and we are in the driver's seat of our own destiny.
I still lurk Reddit from time to time, and frankly, it's like they broke something when they got rid of TD. I can't speak for r/politics per se, since I don't ever lurk there anymore, but many other places it's far more a debate than it used to be.
Nobody I know irl or even online, believes Floyd was some sort of saint or innocent, and increasingly I've seen that narrative questioned on Reddit itself.
Just another example of the Left losing control of its own narratives. You can only bullshit people so much.
Swelling numbers from DC and Silicone Valley have pretty much made VA solid blue for the foreseeable future.
Loudoun and Fairfax counties host something like 80% of all internet bandwidth now and a ton of people moved there from California and Washington state for those jobs.
Cast out by friends and family who also are afraid of sharing pro-trump videos because they think the same will happen to them.
I am very curious how many Trump supporters are surrounded by other Trump supporters who are all afraid to say so.
I still believe Biden is simply a fill-in candidate that can be controlled in the off-chance he wins. The political "king makers" who normally pick the candidates likely saw no way to defeat Trump in an election, and so didn't waste their time picking a viable candidate.
I think the current strategy, assuming there is one at all, is simply chaos. As much chaos as possible and hope for an upheaval, if for no other reason than to cause problems for Trump for another 4 years.
Yeah this sounds like "grab a coffee for an hour ". The time component is just for a meeting, not the pizza, which is just working food into it to better manage a busy day.
I don't really doubt at this point that Podesta is involved in some terrible things, but this particular email sounds like nada to me.
They're desperate. The slow plan to socialize the US failed. They're simply destroying themselves and everything around them at this point.
Sure, there will be collateral damage, but they aren't in a strong position at all.
I used to see the civil war in the same way as you. Not too terribly long ago, in an effort to defend the states rights argument, I did a deeper dive into it, reading what people of that time period had to say about it leading up to the war and during it.
Frankly, there is no question that the Civil War was entirely a construct of the Southern Democrats and the pseudo aristocracy of the antebellum South whom they served.
Of course hardly any confederate soldier fought in it thinking they were protecting the Southern elite. The elite had to push the idea of "states rights" to get the people on board with secession.
It was "never about slavery" but about states rights was the propaganda of the time (which is still echoed even today).
The Democrats haven't changed at all. They use the same tattered playbook. It's not about abortion, it's about "women's health". It's not about Marxism, it's about "black lives". It's not rioting, it's "peaceful protests".
Sure, their "soldiers" are completely amoral and on the surface very different from their 19th century counterparts, and the cause du jour is different.
But the Democrats haven't changed. The reasons are the same. Power, wealth, and control. The cause of the Civil War, the cause of any potential Civil War in the future.
Frying chicken came from Scotland.
A lot of the seasoning ideas came from black Americans.
The ENTIRE American South, regardless of skin color, considers fried chicken to be the top "food of the South", and most southerners eat it regularly.
After KFC and some other chains grew, the rest of the US grew to accept fried chicken as a "common American food", again regardless of ethnicity.
So yeah, this idea that fried chicken is somehow "black people food", and in any way is a special stereotype of blacks is ridiculous. It's like saying water is a "white people drink". It's too universally consumed to apply to any one group.
I had to look that "800,000 missing kids per year" statistic, because it sounds pretty exaggerated. All I could find is there are an estimated "800,000" kids reported missing each year in the US. The vast majority of those are found and were in no way kidnapped or anything.
Some 1-200 per year are abducted by strangers, and of the remaining hundreds that go missing for real, it is generally people they knew or were related to abducting them (such as a divorced parent taking their kid from the other parent).
What isn't a part of any solid statistics (because it's difficult to know anything for sure), are the tens of thousands of kids enslaved in other countries and trafficked into the US, as well as statistics on how many kids aren't abducted or trafficked at all, but are molested or groomed by people who know them.
From all of the rumors and available evidence, it seems that last category it likely what certain people in Disney and Hollywood in general has been engaged in for decades.
Lots of cases of non-covid respiratory infections from people wearing masks that get contaminated with bacteria over time.
Even legionnares disease has been on the rise from it. Proper medical grade masks changed out every few hours is safe. What they're having people do is not safe.
Eh, would have been dicey if he did. Technically the guy he punched was not who assaulted him. That was the woman. She is also the one that tore his shirt. Legally, he had a right to defend himself against her, not against the guy.
It was the better part of valor that he went after the guy instead. But pressing charges could have been problematic. He could win on getting her prosecuted for assault, but he could then be prosecuted for attacking her boyfriend who was technically innocent of assault.
In the end, we really do not need such litigation in our society. If someone attacks you in any way, you should have the right to defend yourself and attack them back, and that should be the end of it. Litigation should be for the weak who cannot defend themselves.
Frankly, I hope that dude realizes his woman is a nutjob and maybe dumps her and gets some common sense about things. He doesn't look that much like a pussy. I don't think he was expecting that punch at all, and he wasn't exactly crying over it. Still kept his coffee right side up.
When it seems bleak, I always gotta remind myself "yeah, but people elected Trump".
No matter what the "polls" say, what the news says, any shenanigans and voter fraud, Trump still was elected.
And that alone is what everyone should remember. And frankly, the things that got him elected have gone to ludicrous speed from the Democrats. It would be entirely bizarre for Trump to not be reelected considering the results last time.
The "silent majority" is a real thing. Nobody wants to deal with being called a racist or anything like that, so most people just don't talk about politics. They go into the booth, cast their vote, get their sticker, and don't say a word about who they voted for.
2016 proved that.
Both Rand and Ron Paul are often wrong because they blindly stick to a set of "principles" no matter what, with an almost religious, dogmatic fervor. This leaves no room for rationality or pragmatism.
Their principles are all well and good, and in fact pretty much the core principles of the founding of this nation. However, they are woefully inadequate to deal with real, external and internal threats to that system they hold dear. It is the principles of liberty that the enemies of our republic use against us on a daily basis, and the Pauls simply are unable or unwilling to see that there are times when exceptions must be made in order to preserve the republic they claim to serve.
Even the Founders understood that in times of war, liberties had to be selectively suspended at times, in order that they will be available in perpetuity. Otherwise, we will lose all liberties for good to the authoritarians at our very doorstep.
