We all know there is garbage in this bill. And we all know spending $2 Trillion with as much debt as we have is bad. But we are in the midst of a major economic crisis caused, not by a virus, but by federal, state, and local governments.

I am not saying governments made good or bad calls on this. Maybe this reaction was the right one. But the fact is, we either act now and provide some economic relief to small business and the middle class, or we lose a significant chunk of the middle class to poverty and basically reverse everything we've gained over the past 3 years and more.

This peon is only delaying it for his own political agenda, and it will most likely destroy his political career.

I think people constantly bringing up voter fraud to this degree are either concern trolling to get everyone to feel defeated, or simply do not understand the level of fraud it would take for the Democrats to actually steal a presidential election that isn't close.

That level of fraud would be far too much and far too obvious to pull off without causing a total shitstorm. Not gonna happen.

Being cocky is usually from a standpoint of ignorance. We've had four years of compounded knowledge about this "foe" that we can rely on. For starters they are incredibly tone deaf when it comes to the American public. They are also woefully incompetent when they try to do anything other than tell lies.

They got away with some "dry run" election fraud during the midterms, but it didn't work as well as they had hoped ("blue wave" never came) and they did so at a massive political cost. That cost being the larger part of the American public are now well aware of that fraud.

There is only so much fraud the Democrats can get away with, and primarily only in states they already control. They are also dealing with a very serious crises within the two halves of their party...they are not unified like they always have been, which was their one strength. With how this Democrat primary has turned out, it is ever more likely that the Democrats are facing a party split in the near future.

No, it is not complacency nor cockiness to say President Trump will win in a landslide. And one of the main reasons for that is also that no voter will be "complacent" in the first place. Wild horses couldn't drag Trump voters away from the polls. The only way possible for Trump to lose is for Trump himself to drop the ball in a massive way. And that's not happening.

Yeah it's been reported that 22 million cell phones are no longer being used in China. It's a stretch to assume 22 million people died in China, but it is an odd statistic.

It's not the virus that is the problem. It's what the reaction to it is doing to the economy that is the problem.

These aren't normal times. Whether the response to the virus was right or wrong, the damage is done and small businesses and workers alike need relief.

Normally I am against any sort of stimulus bs, but state and federal governments have put too many in a terrible position. We need a financial ride through so we are in a position to roar back when this is over, instead of picking up the pieces on mainstreet.

Pelosi already backed off and agreed to accept the Senate bill when it passes. It was a major miscalculation for her and people are pissed. There won't be any caving this time.

Update : Following up on this, it appears as if Nancy Pelosi has already backed off and is ready to accept the Senate bill when it is passed. She got a ton of backlash from her own party.

I've seen zero evidence of this being a bioweapon. I have seen evidence of China testing SARS virus in the past to figure out how to prevent another SARS outbreak and that seems a possible pathway for this new SARS virus.

The original virus did come from bats though.

The hand sanitizer bit was silly, and saying they needed missiles in WWII was dumb, but otherwise, yes Cuomo seems to be doing a good job for his state.

Even though I do not see how this virus is a big enough deal to go into full pandemic mode, at least it is a good learning experience for the real thing should something like ebola or a new type of smallpox ever hit.

With what some of his staff said in remarks to disinformation, and then the President going ballistic on this guy, it has to be on all of their minds.

What the media is doing is more pervasive and damaging than the actual virus itself.

It's called "concern trolling", and it is an old tactic. I haven't really seen it take on here much, but it is still against rule 1 in spirit, if not in words.
