Yeah if this were done on purpose they would have waited until later during the election. By the time November rolls around, everything will be back to normal.

But of course never let a crisis go to waste.

Nah, nobody wants her again, and she wasn't able to debate Trump either. She was a wreck by the end of it.

If they replace Joe it will be someone who at least can pull off a debate without meltdown.

Well, those who took over the farms are "subsistence farmers", so small time farming using old techniques. They do not understand modern mass farming, so they simply can't do it. It's not like you can just buy (or steal) land and just make a big profitable farm out of it. There is all of the modern equipment, techniques, strategies, chemicals, seeds, etc to consider. That is the knowledge the white farmers had that those who stole the farms didn't.

Mini Mike might think farming is easy, but it's not and takes years of knowledge and experience to become a good modern farmer.

Yeah it's hard to say right now because the majority of cases are still from the outbreak zone in Wuhan, where the health system got overloaded and people went without proper care. And heaven knows what else factors came into play in that, since China loves to keep mum on everything or flat out lie.

I think as this progresses we will see numbers of pneumonia cases and mortality rates drop off steeply (as they already are). And based on all of the reports of people getting it and having no symptoms, I suspect the number of infected is much higher than reported, weakening the mortality rate figures even further.

Considering the leading cause of death for the elderly is pneumonia, and many of those cases arise from coronavirus and rhinovirus "colds" to start with, I wouldn't call them "benign".

I get your point, but all this new coronavirus is, is a new coronavirus. It still operates the same as most any other coronavirus, just most people's immune systems have not seen it before, so it overcompensates. And it is usually our own immune systems that cause all of the symptoms and in some cases end up killing us.

So yes, this is potentially worse than a bad cold, but we aren't dealing with ebola or smallpox here.

The same people at risk from this virus are the same at risk from colds turning into pneumonia and the flu. Obviously we wish them well at all times, but it's not like you turn 65 and suddenly you are at risk.

Yeah this is something I thought about this morning when I heard Tom Hanks got it. He and his wife will be fine I'm sure, and the net result is people will see they are fine and maybe calm down a bit.

Frankly, if the wider global media (including the usual suspects here in the US) had been more responsible instead of turning this into a panic, we would not be dealing with much economic fallout right now. But of course, they all had to jump on it like piranhas on a piece of bacon.

I mean, yeah, they pull the political angle, but even without that, they have a tough time not blowing it out of proportion.

Yes, falling coconuts are nothing to mess with.

It's how most Clinton enemies commit suicide.

There isn't really a bad scenario here. If Bernie wins the Democrats are stuck with a socialist that will scare off a lot of potential voters. If Biden wins, Bernie's followers will throw a fit. Either way is a split.

Maybe they consider Breitbart to be a "gathering place", I don't know. That and maybe CTH are the only other places I can think of that have a lot of discussion between Trump supporters.

Anyone who thinks politics in this country have shifted to the right might be clinically braindead. Take them to emergency room, because they need a scan or something.

Exactly what I thought when I read the title of this post.

It's impossible to trust north Korea yet they haven't had much reason to trust us either. At least coming face to face is a step towards trust.

I don't think it's TDS, as he doesn't display any hate for the President and even praises him on things. I think he simply doesn't politically align with the right and is frustrated about what's happening to the left. Basically he's a political exile.

I am 100% on board after reading this.

I was suspicious of intent, but the arguments are solid.
