Yep ! So many things at hardware stores that will hang up the self checkout 'till some one comes out of their hidey hole to beep boop the machine.
It also has something to do with benefits. A lot of places are switching to higher paid workers but keeping their hours low, so they end up as part time / seasonal / temporary and just below the threashold to get benefits.
Also fun fact, a lot of times when min wage goes "up" its for new hires only. Previous hires (probably the ones with benefits or some kind senority) have to be pay raised up or quit (lose benefits) to find work at a new place for higher wage and likely no benefits starting at the bottom of the ladder.
$15/hr is robots everywhere. Also $15/hr is a huge stake through the heart of most small businesses and a chain around the ankles of any one considering starting a new business.
I feel your pain. I know how hard it is on military bases you can't simply just say "ok i'll move my kiddos to another school". Oftentimes military families aren't even from the area the base is in nor there long enough to establish ties off base. So theres a huge disconnect.
This is the result of Bidens EOs trickling down. Since your on base you have no choice but to comply. But when your kiddos are at home or you get them off base, please spend as much time as you can interacting with eachother face to face. It is important.
In regards to the ammo shortage, I don't think a sanctuary for ammunition is needed. It is literally a supply vs demand issue. There is an exponential growth in demand for ammo and guns this past year and simply put the manufacturers just didn't rise up to the challenge. (Americans love shooting, we buy by the crate, not by the box)
In their defense though, this sort of thing happens a lot. Something happens, people react and panic buy and then demand goes up while the supply is squeezed. It eventually normalizes on its own w/o further intervention. I'm sure many of us here remember that not too long ago .22 was impossible to find and then over time it was pennies a round.
In regards to the 2A. A sanctuary area for guns and ammo sounds like a great idea on paper, but it is just a bandage for a much larger issue. It's not a Repulican or Democrat issue. This is our right we're talking about, creating a little safe space to practice our right is admission that we don't have that right.
While that might level the playing field so to speak, it would not help any one.
I do too ! Google started Indexing the internet around 1999-ish. Thats a huge head start. I don't know of any other service that has as much index data that Google has unfortunately. And since they have been around so long I'm sure they've patented the heck out of everything regarding indexing.
It is not so much that it is "compromised" (it probably is) but you have to understand it uses Google's indexing to provide you results. It is just a fancy front end for Google minus the Google tracking.
As far as I know there isn't anything that passed (yet) thats limited manufacturing, nor has any manufacturing closed (yet).
It seems like the problem is extreme demand. Yesterday would be a great time to open new manufacturing plants or expand existing ones. But with the prospect of Biden and the 117th Congress threatening to ban/restrict more guns and ammo types that might be holding back companies from expanding if the future brings a sudden demand shortage brought on by legislation. So they would be stuck with large amounts of capital in infrastructure they have to pay off and a pile of product they can't sell.
Maybe a bit of an unexpected place, but I have found a great collection of old classics at an antique store.
For the newer stuff ... believe it or not there are still book stores ! Try the nearest liberal town , might even have a music store selling vinyl next door.
I know your just being silly. In NY they have already done that. If you put an adjustable stock onto any semi-automatic rifle (w/o pinning it in place), it becomes an "assault rifle" and a felony if you're caught with it.
Now that the left has got away with stealing, and the supreme court aparently giving it their blessing , they will do it again. Until the fraudulent non-election of Nov 4th is investigated and fixed/corrected no one is getting primaried.
Also fraud or not ( we all know there was fraud) people are just not going to come out and vote now knowing their ballot goes into a mysterious black box computer to get processed instead of counted.
It's not just here on an internet forum, it is nation wide. There are people who think guns are just for hunting or sport or a niche item.
We have more right to have a gun than to drive to a burger joint. I don't know what the answer is. I was taken back when there was almost no pushback when states prevented people from going to church this past year. People are so quick to just give up.
Very real and now we have a very pissed off congress. There is a very real chance this will pass the House and land in the Senate.
NY sort of does this for Pistol Permits. People got really upset about that and instead of going civil war status we all just compromised so now there is a government form to opt out.
There are a ton of "bills" that are just sitting waiting to be used to wrapped up into a mega bill.
When something happens to trigger their agenda, there is a bill already there and they mearly just dust it off and plug it in knowing we probably forgot about it.
I see. At least you tried though. Being the manufacturer and supplier of your pet food is really rewarding but it does come at a cost for sure.
Tractor supply, as some have pointed out, is a good alternative. They have a good variety of pet food and misc items.
Also look at Truevalue / Ace Hardware / AG/Farm supply stores as they will usually have a good selection of pet food as well !
While all these options still support larger corporate conglomerates they are often franchised so supporting them will directly support your local economy.
If you don't mind me asking, what kind of pet do you have? There are possibilities to make your own pet food.
The first two days were aired on many cable TV news channels here 'till dinner time. Today, nothing at all. But we all knew this would happen.
It is all a joke.
Something we can do is to watch it and take some notes, even if just some headlines, and call/write/email your senators. Especially for those of us that live in states with Democrat senators.
They think they can get the MSM to hit the off switch and no one will see the other side. Let them realize we are watching even if the MSM isn't.
Dear members of Cuomo's team, He is going to throw you or your coworker(s) under the bus. The powers granted to the governors from the current national emergency have gone to his head. He is making very dangerous decisions with unlimited unchecked power that will come back to haunt him and you.
I have noticed as well that DuckDuckGo search engine (DDG) does not have Odysee's main website as the top hit. But google does. Interesting to note google acquired odysee some time ago. If I'm not mistaken Lbry made Odysee (An app) and google bought said app. I could be wrong though.
DDG doesn't have its own indexing though. It's just a front end for the google indexing minus the tracking.
In the end whether it happens or not ... whoever plans to run against him just got a massive wind behind their sails
Hmm this may sound harsh but I'll give it a go.
People often get crippled when deciding what or how to do something. Thinking that they need this thing or that thing or some ones blessing. (In some cases that might be a good idea. Example, practicing medicine or law)
I see people fail to start even a simple garden because they "don't have carpentry skills to build a raised bed" or "I just don't have that green thumb". That is such a bullshit excuse.
On to your pew pew question. Training is great. Especially in person training from an experienced shooter. There are some things you just can't pick up by reading or watching videos. If your just starting your gun journey, you don't need a Navy Seal to train you in advanced combat techniques on your first day.
I'm not going to tell you what to do or how to do it. But it is your RIGHT to have one afterall. I find that in person activities (local gun stores, gun clubs/ranges) are far more informative than forums , blogs, and videos.
If you respect the power that comes with firearms then the basics should come naturally. For example; muzzle control, trigger discipline, and knowing whats beyond/behind your target.
TL;DR - In my opinion the best resources are gun stores and gun clubs. Don't be shy
The only way this woman gets re-elected in Wyoming is if she steals it. Whether this information is true or not, there is no walking back from this.
The media needs a new narrative now that covid is winding down, it meshes great with the new AG declaring a war on domestic terrorism.
^Would like to just add, people get beat up and mugged all the time in big cities, now the media is going to cherrypick asians to fit the new narrative.
