Here's my thinking:
Was the election stolen? Does Trump know? Was he telling the truth when he said "we caught them cold"? Could he have presented the evidence, called an EO he wrote for this purpose, used the DNI report, and called the Insurrection Act, present evidence and won prior to congress certifying?
YES, HE COULD HAVE.
Why didn't he?
He chose to wait and use these tools to DESTROY congress. What are the consequences for certifying a fraudulent election?
The "transition" will be to a temporary military government IMO

In soccer, if you finish in the lowest 3 positions at the end of the season, you get removed from the top league and put in a lower league. If you finish in the top 2 positions (or win a playoff match) in the lower league, you get promoted to the top league. Sometimes this is more exciting than who finishes first.
In the NFL if you finish poorly, you get a Heisman quarterback

They're scared shitless because they broke the law. This is why they want to remove Trump immediately. My understanding is they received the DNI report after voting (which is why Trump didn't release it ahead of time, to entrap them)
It's not often to play for a draw, but there is strategy to it some aren't acknowledging. First off, no one intentionally decides "hey, let's both not score any goals today". Both teams employ measures of attack & defense, resulting in certain areas exposed. There will be times of pushing forward hard, which opens you up at the back, and you're vulnerable. Yes- open, flowing games are far more exciting to watch.
If both sides have been ineffective at scoring the majority of the game, then it might be acceptable to lean defensively and not lose 1-0 in the last 10 minutes of the game. It's not exciting, but it's better than losing. If you win, you gain 3 points, draw you get 1 point, and lose 0 points. The points are tallied and this determines who wins the league. Sometimes getting 1 point against a strong team is an acceptable outcome.
