"Come for the excess and shitposts, stay for the theory and politics."

Heard that line on an Intellectual Dark Web thing with JP, Rubin and Shapiro. Makes sense as every single successful rally I've been two had two things...good food and good music. The politics is almost secondary. If they walk away having had a good time...and under the banner, at least, of WHATEVER YOUR MOVEMENT IS ABOUT...then it's a success. The positive feeling is their when people think of you.

This and that PBS Bannon thing. Could watch them every single day for a year and still find new insights.

Frontline of Free Speech (LIVE) | Jordan Peterson & Ben Shapiro | POLITICS | Rubin Report

My basic point is people want to feel that they matter. To have a say in the movement and not just be repositories for memes someone else created. If you get them into it, with meme workshops and contests for flairs and etc, the energy takes off. Won't happen overnight and needs to be worked up tom, now that we've fallen so low. But...

They should take a page from the OG mods that put T_D on the map:

https://www.reddit.com/user/hennny/

https://www.reddit.com/r/OhSnapYouGotServed/

Here's Pol mocking CISwhitemaelstrom for being too high energy and saying we were going to build an empire. Remember that energy? Right after the election when anything felt possible? When this actually felt like a movement?

I'm not saying side with the White nationalists or even let them spread their memes too much. I'm saying, we're not on Reddit anymore and yet it feels like we are.

I mean, can't we return to 2016 circa T_D? Basically, 4Chan lite? That is, when the chans weren't actively brigading. heh. There were daily themes (totally irrelevant to politics, btw, but FUN) and contests and people had fun.

Where is all that energy? It's been drained from the movement.

Slowly.

Over the course of years.

And, will take time to build back up. BUT, we need to get that energy back up before November. We need that youthful irreverence. IMO. That devil-may-care craziness. Otherwise, we look more and more like every other website with too many rules. More like the 80s and 90s GOP, if you ask me. And, I guess, you are asking me, so...

I think Styx just watches Scott Adams and does whatever he does? Not a bad gam-eplan, come to think of it, if you're tasked with spouting new ideas every GD hour and can't think of anything....

The whole thing is a joke, fell apart after he won the election and people started taking it WAY TOO SERIOUSLY and ...just smothered it to death trying to do it perfectly. 4 of our best, most creative, most in-your-face and best fighting mods got shitcanned from T_D and ever since then it's been a stupid clan of conformity and top-down dumbfuckery. It cost us the mid-terms and has just disgusted people.

We went from having CNN, etc respond to us and people going to T_D just to see what new craziness was happening that day....to fucking boring shit where the only posts allowed are in response to (and thus feeding oxygen to the worldview of) Democrat accusations.

It's obvious that T_D just lets people get wild to build up a Tump supporter base...and make sure we're all under their control when the time is right...then shits on us and censors / bans everyone when it's time to vote.

Only question is: is this site like that, too.

I'm thinking yes.

At a certain point it doesn't matter, though.

Whether incompetence or outright villainy, it's boring and depressing and conformist and top-down and just SHIT. Gimme 2016 T_D with themed days, HIGH ENERGY WILDNESS BORDERLINE ABOUT TO BE BANNED ANY SECOND...etc.

This shit here is just lame and too serious and clearly modded by people who don't understand the medium at all. Whoever was in charge of hiring mods clearly was some dumbfuck who is, no doubt, super professional and Mr Big Shit (or thinks of himself that way) and hired dumbshits with careers and etc who''ve kissed ass and climbed ladders and have resumes....for a mod position ONLINE...LOL....

Like I said, they don't understand the internet AT ALL.

And that's why we're losing (so far!) in 2020. Joe Rogan is the beginning. IF WE DONT TURN IT AROUND.

But, that's not what the mods here and on T_D really want. Is it?

Their whole plan is to sink our online culture, slowly, into the same tired 1980s-90s GOP lameness that cost McCain, Romney, Bush Sr. elections.

So brave. Can we get a round of applause for this brave, white knight not applauding death? My goodness, how many Democrats he has just convinced to support Trump with this brave stand!
