Being the hedge fund company bet that the stock was going to decline, they needed to come up with the difference. The problem was, the difference wasn't $18 stock price to $30. It was $18 to $200+. So the hedge fund company got liquidated because they needed to come up with the difference. Probably upwards of $30-$40 billion is lost right now because of a bunch of people on Reddit rallying around Gamestop. Wallstreet is crying like babies now cause they got fucking rekt by WE THE PEOPLE.
