In the photo on the right, due to the angle of light, the quarter inch of his ear closest to his head is in shadow, so that the lobe is obscured. He has ‘detached’ earlobes in both photos. It only looks like an ‘attached’ lobe in the right-hand photo because the lobe is hidden in shadow. These are not two different people.
