There really is no possible reason other than Pence is a traitor. Even if you didn't think the law gave you the power to reject electors, why the hell would you interject into the court case in this way? If you say nothing, either the judge rules the way you expect (and it's doesn't affect u) or the judge surprises you with a new option to save the Republic.
The only reason to fight against this is if you don't believe biden/harris will destroy us all. Anyone who doesn't believe democrats will be the death of us all at this point is a subhuman piece of garbage and a traitor.

- Congress would do what? Scream, demand he come back, maybe hold a symbolic vote, maybe with someone else presiding to "accept" the electors?
- Trump just ignores congress and says pence didn't count them so I win. Refuses to give up power.
- Dems sue and it goes to the Supreme Court. Court says Pence didn't have that authority. So what, Trump can give a speech and say that SCOTUS didn't have standing. Screw em. Refuse to give up power.
My point is not to say with certainty that Pence has this authority. The point is that if Pence (or someone else) doesn't do anything, our nation is over. So take a stand and try. At the least it will allow Trump to refuse to leave while arguing that the Constitutional required counting did not take place.
