Your counter misses the crux of the argument and ad hominem doesn't help nor fortify your position. Voting itself isn't compulsory and it isn't a requirement of citizenship. Putting in requirements to vote is something that has been a part of this country since its founding though the form of it has changed over time.
Having requirements to ensure someone voting has a stake in their country, be it military service, paying taxes, owning land, etc helps to mitigate the abuse of people voting for their own parasitic benefits.
I'd make voting restricted either to draft registered or land owning (and occupying) citizens.
If you are unwilling to fight for a nation nor have a vested interest in that nation's success, why should you have a say in that nation's future?
Normally I'd agree, but the so called "democracy" isn't much better with rampant voter fraud. Take a look at the EU for example and how frequently "vote again until we get the answer we want" comes into play.
EDIT: Democracy these days is basically an oligarchy with extra steps.
So burn the forest and leave no cover.
Ballot harvesting needs to be quashed and methods put in place to stop illegals from voting.
Fix the broken system or destroy it so it can be rebuilt. Engaging in corruption serves only to spread its taint.
I feel like they haven't thought this through, unless getting shot is part of their plan.
People have been complacent with corruption because things were comfortable. With the lockdowns removing the circuses the average Joe is bored. If they try to actually enforce this, well, I can't imagine a more powerful motivator than hunger.
The longer this goes and more the blue controlled states trash themselves, the harder it will be for them to convince the average Joe that they deserve to be in charge.
Sadly, it might be a very uncomfortable wakeup call.
Find something that could generate lots of lulz, spread it around, ???, profit!
Looking back at all of the 4chan raids the common thread between them is the lulz factor. If there isn't a funny outcome or a cat in need of protecting, it rarely gets off the ground.
TL;DR - The order is mandating the clarification by the FCC of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. If done correctly, this closes the loophole that services like Twitter use to have the editorial control of a publisher while claiming the legal immunity of a platform.
It also blaps taxpayer funding to services that remove user's constitutionally protected speech.
