As time went on, I began understanding the world a little clearer. Now I'm here. I can't believe how naive, stupid and one-track I was. But that's what most people seem to be now. It's a huge problem. Governments are talking full advantage of these people to push their agendas and people don't have the ability to understand how most of what the government is doing isn't actually helping them nor is it helping the people they think they're helping either.
Academia is the biggest problem in society right now and needs to be entirely defunded.

I'm beginning to think a lot of these politicians people think are all "deep state", super corrupt, in-on-it are actually victims of all the same control mechanisms at play.
I'm also not convinced there's any central authority controlling things but more or less many decentralized bad actors trying to vie for control with some groups having more control than others.

It's quite problematic. I see how headlines control people. People read headlines and just take it at face value.... They think because they see an assortment of many different headlines on the same story, that they know what truly happened and don't have a bias yet all the sources they see are biased. They've never spent the time to truly see the source.
I don't quite know what I'm getting at but all this information is truly a war. Whoever wins out on this mainstream narrative gets to shape and justify political decisions because in a democracy if you the mainstream narrative works to your advantage politically then politically you can get away with anything. People get so swept up in the information narratives that governments seem capable of getting away with anything.
At the end of the day my biggest concern is how we're losing our individual ability to influence other people and the culture in society. It used to be that in a small community, you could have a prominent role in shaping that community through your words, your actions and who you were as a person. Today, people are shaped by the mainstream collective. Individuals now have less power over their relationships and communities and that's a big problem to me.

Yes, our parents and grandparents were right to distrust the internet. I remember when it first came out, old people did, saying exactly what is happening now will happen. People will use the information against you. We mistakenly believed we lived in a good society with generally good people and as long as we were good then nothing bad would happened.
