The president has limited power in cutting the budget anyway, appropriations is delegated to congress.

That's kind of the point. They set the precedent with revoking cloture for lifetime judicial nominations, not that much justification applying it to Supreme Court vs other lifetime appointments, especially when the Dems would have dragged out the stonewalling throughout Trump's entire presidency.
