Wow that’s incredibly sad.
They also had Woodstock during this pandemic.
I think they are too brainless to have a master plan. I honestly believe that they believe that hard work and education is meaningless. They think people only become rich because they are lucky, privileged, or stole from someone else - so they must either get lucky (lottery), get privileged (need more X in the room) or steal from someone else (raise taxes and min wage). Nowhere in their philosophy of the world has hard work, determination, or basic finance.
Because rich people. Don’t you get it?? The rich bro, we take from them. They have a gazillion dollars, we just tax them and can have free housing, healthcare, education, and UBI.
Good part is I left California for Texas and took my company with me. I was sick of being called a “rich/privileged white guy”. Unfortunately, California liberals will never understand what it means to actually work hard and build something from nothing....
I work in 3D rendering and we have what are called “render farms”, which are just dedicated machines that you send your 3D files to render. The best part is that each individual machine is called a “slave”. So when Disney/Pixar renders their animations they render them on “render farms” that are full of “slaves”. I kid you not!! Just wait until the woke Twitter crowd finds out about that! Us 3D nerds will all be canceled.
I tried talking to a lib friend from college the other day who though Biden was a “bad ass” for spending $1.9T. I tried explaining to him that it’s $9.5k a taxpayer and $30k a taxpayer via all stimulus during covid. High estimates were 3m dead, and .5m died (if you believe those numbers, but let’s go with it). So we spent $6T to save 2.5m lives, that’s $2.4m a life saved. We could have built private hospitals for everyone “at risk” and still had trillions left over. His response, “yeah well we wouldn’t have needed to spend all this money if we had better leadership”. He is so lost I had to just walk away. There is no communicating with some of those people.
I went from $235k in revenue ($120k profit) in 2019 to $80k ($27k profit) in 2020 and had to put an extra $60k into my business in 2020 to keep it alive. Between March and December 2019 revenues were down 90% (all because of lockdowns in California). I didn’t get PPP since I pay myself in distributions because I invest all my money back into the business and only pay myself for rent and food (don’t even have a car). Also didn’t get stimulus bc I made so much in 2019.
So I lost $60k, made under $15/hr in 2020, business was down 90%, and didn’t get a dime of help. But the people unemployed got an extra $500/week and are complaining this stimulus isn’t enough.
Yes but if it causes higher inflation in the economy then it’s costing them by devaluing their dollar. Or if companies go overseas to evade taxes it costs them their job. Nothing is ever completely free.
The same people that go “if the service is free, you are the product” think that free money from the guvmt has no downside and they should get more.
Closing the one place people can go to actively get healthier is one of the most ridiculous rules of the pandemic (other than schools). I have never once in my 28 years of life seen an obese 70 year old with diabetes at the gym.
I mostly see mostly fit people under 50 naturally social distancing, wiping down equipment after use, and showering after.
Weakening the immune system of not as risk individuals isn’t going to save any lives.
Now I have a Freedom boner
I think that Obama is more popular on a personal level that Biden, but the democrats were more united and people really hate Trump, so the Democratic Party + anti Trump group was more popular in 2020 than Obama alone was in 2008/2012.
I come from a very conservative family and a lot voted for Trump in 2016 but couldn’t stand the way he acts on Twitter or the fact that he only can only say 7 words (amazing, beautiful, fake news, etc..) and that really turned them off to Trump in 2020. They decided to stay home in 2020. But I go on my social media and god damn did the democrats have a propaganda machine running saying if you do not vote now Hitler will be running the country and we will all die of Covid.
Just my 2 cents.
Yeah this place has been acting as irrational and emotional as r/politics ever since the election. Im a fan of evidence and truth, not “hold the line” and “I hate you if you disagree with me”.
If you throw vile language at someone that is asking for evidence, you are coming from a place of emotion rather than reason, imo.
I’m not really buying into the whole voter fraud thing, but I’m in LA and my ballot hasn’t even been received yet. I dropped it off Election Day outside the LA Public Library.
Tbh I think it’s more incompetence of the county than fraud. Biden probably will win LA County like 90% to 10%, they don’t need to suppress my vote here. I’ll give them a few more days here and see if my ballot shows up before I get suspicious - but that’s just me.
No thanks.
Well technically my company pays half. I got a live/work loft to support an office of 4 people and I live upstairs. Although it’s just me here these days....
I’m Downtown Los Angeles. Everyone boarded up today, even my apartment building. They sent out an email to the building saying the doorman cannot see the door anymore, so enter through the parking garage. I’ll be skipping town tomorrow heading to my ex gfs (only thing I have out here). Only time I remember crying in my adult life was walking around the neighborhood after the BLM Riots on May 29 where they destroyed the businesses and homes of mostly immigrants and hustlers like myself, a pede trying to build a company and live the American dream. Walking around the next morning was like walking around a town that was just bombed.
I too will pray for America tonight and for my commie neighbors.
I’m DTLA - Been talking to a lot of Uber drivers and they are very pro trump if you let them open up. Also saw the guy who owns the pizza shop across the street get into a pro-police argument with some liberal 25 woman nutcase thinking that 10 cops showing up to arrest a drug addict that’s running around assaulting people on the street was an aggressive use of force. I also saw him get looted during the BLM riots, so he is def voting Trump and does not seem like someone that would normally vote.
My building just sent me an email this afternoon that the front doors are now covered in plywood for my protection for civil unrest. I pay $3,500/mo rent for a 1 bedroom - all of downtown is boarded up again and the mayor of LA was in Vegas today campaigning for Biden. I’m not sure how you can actually keep voting for democrats in Los Angeles unless you have a mental illness (wouldn’t be surprised if 80% of people here do)
Well if my story means anything, I’m voting Trump. I am independent and live in Los Angeles, but I did not vote Trump in 2016. I am a big capitalist (business owner) but still liberal socially. I thought Trump was an idiot (still think that) and possible would have started a new war, or fucked things up so badly we actually did need to impeach him (for real crimes). I always kept a close eye on him and go right to the source of info (no main stream media). First time I ever voted was in 2018 after Kavanaugh, I voted down the line independent/republican/green to get these lunatics out of office. Then after the impeachment mess, and covid, then the BLM riots. I’m 100% voting Trump tomorrow in person and moving out of Los Angeles ASAP.
As I’m reading the title I am thinking, “please don’t be an asshole to your neighbor over a yard sign”. Glad you were not. Good work.
That or 17 people get $24k over two years.
