So, I'm a psychology doctorate student. Being a conservative voice in a sea of liberals has been challenging. However, I intentionally place myself at sites that heavily lean towards "muh diversity," with the intention of learning how they think. Today was actually hilarious.
One therapist brings up how saying you're an "ally" is being called "virtue signaling" by more and more people (oh and by "people" I mean everyone but White people since, you know, we're not people anymore). All of the therapists acted shocked and appalled by the notion and one even said, "that makes me sad because it feels like I am losing my gold star." LOL! I'm literally watching far-left individuals move slowly back to the idea of just being a good person without going out of your way to make sure others know how good you are. Which is basically how people acted prior to this diversity/intersectionality movement.
I took a bit of a risk and told the group, "Well yeah that makes sense. How do you all react to the person that brags about how much they give to charity? Making sure that everyone you work with knows how much of an 'ally' you are is basically the diversity version of that." I wish I could have captured all of their faces. Priceless.
I will lose my shit if, over the next 10 years, the far-left comes full circle and starts preaching what conservative minds have been saying for decades haha.
I’m getting my doctorate in clinical psychology. My field is amazingly far left; I am one conservative voice in a sea of liberal voices. Finding this community has been really good for my sanity (and my wife’s). The past 6 months have infuriated many of us here, and for good reason. However, I’ve taken inspiration and direction from the recent events and feel wholeheartedly that “regular” people need to start making changes. That being said, here’s what I’ve been inspired to do:
-
Lose weight and get back to the athlete body I had to some degree
-
Commission as an officer in the Armed Forces as a psychologist - it’s time for me to serve those that have served us, and I have a feeling they’re going to need more support versus less under a potential Biden presidency
-
Run for office after I’ve served. Frankly more of us need to do this. There was a post here that literally said, “you honestly think you’re less qualified that Talib/AOC,” and I laughed. I’m more qualified than they are. Many of us likely are.
-
Invest time in getting to know God much, much better. Through school, practicum, having a child, and general “life” business I’ve unintentionally stepped away from my faith; it’s time to step back towards it.
I share these things with all of you because it seems clear that a new political movement is forming and we need “regular” people to step out of their normal lives and into a life our forbears would be proud of.
(Sorry for any spelling errors, I wrote this from my communist iPhone)
But I really think that Trump is going to exercise all peaceful options until he invokes it. I strongly believe that once the Insurrection Act is used, there absolutely will be deaths. The Left will collectively lose its mind and both Soldiers and Civilians will get bloody.
I'm only writing this to make sure that people realize the gravity of the situation. I'm all for Trump exercising this Act, however I feel like we need to prepare our hearts and minds for what comes next. I'm sitting here actually, realistically, and wholeheartedly thinking about the possibility that I lose my life for my country. It's a scary notion, and I have grown my already immense respect for our Founding Fathers and past countrymen who gave the ultimate sacrifice to new levels.
I pray that this is resolved as peacefully as possible and that we can avoid large-scale conflict, but I am also preparing myself for some wildly un-peaceful times ahead.
So, anyone one here a good artist and wants to draw up the cover to TheDonald's first children's book? Imagine creating a children's books series outlining basic civics. Make Trump a fucking lion in it. Like Mr. Peabody but better.
I'm having a hard time talking with my Left aligning friends about this topic. They are fervent that "everything is just Chinese propaganda," and that nothing has actually been verified. I'm around 80% that this is not simply "Chinese propaganda," because it makes no sense for China to make Biden look bad. If anything, Chinese propaganda would photoshop any/all of Trump's kids into Hunter's pictures haha.
How are you Pedes working through talking with your Leftist friends about this issue? I've never felt like the two parties could be more distant. Shit, even a friend told me that Trump was verified on Epstein's flight logs, which I have never heard before, and frankly didn't believe for one second.
