I think leftist ideology also preys on the natural proclivity towards compassion that is innate to most women (and effeminate men). Unfortunately, the left warps and perverts it into a sort of fanatical altruism. It's how you get things like the release of dangerous criminals from prison "to protect them from Covid", or import thousands of refugees against the best interests of our citizenry, or ban the suspension or punishment of misbehaving children in schools, etc.
