Similar to Rex Tillerson, what should have been a good choice turned out to be a disappointment in the end, with some mixed success along the way. I liked Mattis, but he always had a deep state vibe.
When Trump is not choosing a foil character to play off, like John Bolton, he likes to appoint competent people from "central casting." While this usually ensures a fair job is done, it certainly doesn't ensure loyalty by choosing these strong established players.
Mattis did a good job helping to defeat ISIS and he instilled confidence in the troops, as well as the public at the time. Another solid appointment who later back-stabbed was Chief of Staff John Kelly - he did well in the role, but his internal corrupt nature and lack of loyalty overcame him in the end.
These generals are pro-big government, pro-bureaucracy statists to the core. They must sell out to the deep state to some extent to even reach those heights. That is the trade off when dealing with any high level people in the machine, like generals, CEOs, etc. They all must pay the price to their master in the end. Let's stop being surprised.
Here we go again. If you listen to the comments in context, Trump is speculating and asking is there a way or could it be possible to do something like putting substances in the body that could quickly kill the virus. He is asking the doctors if anything like that is being looked into or tried, he is not telling people to inject disinfectant into their bodies!
The media is the one spreading this malicious idea far and wide and bears total responsibility for it. You cannot take one speculative & hopeful comment out of context from many hours of daily press conferences, and simply because the words "disinfectant" and "injection" are in the same paragraph, twist it into whatever insane thing you think will make Trump look bad.
Now we have to hear this bullshit lie repeated over and over for the next year because they have nothing else, meanwhile Biden has actual gaffes that don't need to be twisted every single day, but the media covers it up.
This is why I no longer consume any mainstream media whatsoever - this shit drives me insane. Luckily people are more desensitized to it the more they do this, but it is still extremely irritating, especially when we are in the middle of a crisis.
P.S. UV light is already used as a treatment for multiple diseases via endoscopy, so that isn't even outlandish. Notice how they are slowly backing away from mocking him for that part.
Lord give me strength
