The Vietnam war was so poorly run on a strategic level that you have to wonder if it was by design. In many way the 2nd Iraq war and Afghanistan followed a similar pattern.

Who got rich from all that war material?

Well it's not nothing either. It's just that explosives are one of the easiest things to improvise if you wanna use them in a malicious manner.

Seems way more likely that someone just forgot to sign off on something at one point or another.

10 pounds is not a lot. Bet you could find that amount missing from almost every explosives depot if you looked hard enough at the logs over a number of years.

Not a good analogy. 'acid rain' for instance was (and is) a very real problem that was taken care of by a massive push to reduce harmful emissions from our industries, by more than 90% in the case of sulfur.

Of course... We then moved our production to china with zero regulations. Sometimes the problems are real but the solutions fraudulent.

GMOs suck because of; patent abuse, the dangers of monocultures and genetic drift.

Not because they are in any way dangerous to consume.
