It is estimated that over one third of US workers belong to the "professional-managerial" class (government, education, health, etc.). Another 20% receive govt handouts. Others are wealthy and self-sufficient. Communists destroy certain portions of society, but build up others such as these, to keep people relatively comfortable and dependent. A revolution seems unlikely until more have nothing to lose.

I used to have what I thought was a muslim friend. But after 9/11, she said in such an unconvincing way: "they should not have done this", as if it was just an oopsie-my-bad decision, but I could tell she really approved of it, and knew her family helped finance such through her mosque, but was told to cover her tracks with denials. Never trust them.
