The fact that the same system can possibly be used in either kind of race is that much more ridiculous.

Trump lost zero of his base last night, and drove Biden to alienate the only true undecided bloc left in the country -- disillusioned progressives.
Trump's strategy has been consistent: paint Biden as an uber progressive. If it sticks, he loses moderates; if he defends, he alienates the Progressive wing.
Looks like the years are off, not the candidates.
