He's pretty on point with this I'll admit. Still playing the race card, but I'll take an ally against fraud first and foremost right now

I agree with you. We are the same age (30 somethings) and you wouldn't believe how out of touch he is with the base. He's a Bush Jr. Republican. I pretty much black pilled myself in high school (We were both very into politics - I went down the hole of thinking both sides are the same and everyone is a crook and lost interest - He Continued staunch conservative and made a career out of it) I only came back around when I got on the Trump Train and told him I knew he'd win in 2016 and he asked how I knew that would happen or why I even had a feeling that would happen. He had such extreme TDS at the time that he didn't want to admit Donna Brazile gave Hillary the questions for the debates and that there was nothing wrong with sounding scripted - it meant she was just prepared. He was gone.

These career politicians aren't too different than career academics. They are so out of touch with the real world.

I haven't said this on these boards before, but my best friend growing up in high school is now a field representative for Mitch McConnell in the state of Kentucky...I won't say which region...

During phone conversations before and after the election in 2016, he was the most never Trump Republican I have ever encountered. This was before he was hired by Mitch McConnell. He was an adjunct professor and worked a conservative non-profit. He told me he would vote for Hillary Clinton as long as it meant getting rid of Trump and re-steering the Republican Party back to RINO-Land.

I have known since the beginning, as many of you all have, that the Republican Party would gladly rid themselves of Trump given the opportunity. This is probably their best chance to do so, so I'm not surprised at the begrudging support or lack there of.
