No, I wouldn't have talked to them at all. Kind of the point. What business is it of mine what some other stranger does? Maybe he prefers to pick his battles and not be accosted by strangers for not wearing a mask - and instead got accosted by you. Before this Corona crap, if you saw someone in public wearing a face mask, would you have stopped this complete stranger and berated them for wearing it? No? Why does that change now that you think others shouldn't be wearing one?
Bottom line is it doesn't matter what his reasons were. They weren't any of your business. We live in a free world (until Biden gets in), and people can do what they wish to help keep themselves, and others safe - even if it is not proven to be effective, or was even detrimental. It's free will. If others want your opinion they'll ask for it.
