If you have progressed to the point of requiring a vent, you will die without it. It’s just that when people get to that point they are absurdly ill and the chance of recovery is very low, it would be even lower if they didn’t vent you.

It’s not the vent that kills them, its just that once the disease progresses to the point where a ventilator is needed the chance of surviving is very very low. If you need to be vented and don’t you will die 100% of the time.

It’s unlikely it’s from the actual consumption of food. It’s how they keep and handle the animals before eating them. Virus would spread from the animal to the human just like it does from human to human.

Thinking it wasn’t would be silly. Even 500million would have been too much for the site.
