Whether or not the mask protects you isn't dependent solely on how well you wear your mask as you seem to think. It is very ineffective at protecting you regardless and may in fact promote the spread of the virus.

Think about the "particle" being propelled through the mask. You get a fine spray of many small particles...each of which may be infectious.
Never mind the fact that most people are walking around with masks that are nowhere near as effective as N95 masks.

the BEST masks (N95) filter 99.5% of particles that are 0.33 microns in size or larger. The corona virus is 0.12 micros in size ---the N95 has no chance of filtering it out.
If we are still going to insist that the virus spreads in particles of moisture then a sneeze or cough behind a mask results in numerous smaller particles being sprayed rather than 1 larger droplet.
The science also says that the odds of someone under 20 catching the virus and then dying from it is just 1 in 3.3 million. The science also says that children aren't spreading the disease.
