My kids school board is full of scaredy-cats and COVID pearl clutchers! They have closed the school right before Thanksgiving and justified it by saying behavior on Halloween made cases rise and the concern over people getting together for Thanksgiving. Meanwhile the neighboring school district is 100% open. PA just made the districts commit to follow the health department recommendations, essentially makes the the recommendations the law. Meanwhile sports are 100% open. Crazy!

Those things will give a wide range of temperature readings depending on the COLOR of the object that is being measured. It’s called emissivity and most those temp guns usually don’t have a way to change the default setting.
