I agree. And I think (hope) it represents part of a larger trend of conservatism becoming the new counter-culture. Because let's face it, leftists are no fun and it must be boring as hell for kids when all the celebrities they like are repeating the same talking points as their teachers.
Not exactly how I would have chosen to have a conservative revival, but I'll take it at this point!
The core problem is that they don't understand why Trump appeals to the forgotten voters. They've made no progress on this front since 2015. Until they understand, they'll never have effective tactics to counter it (thank goodness!).
We'll try, but it's an uphill battle when more than half the people in this state are either on welfare or employed by local/state/federal government and vote for more of the same. A dramatic contraction of all levels of government is in order.
That's pretty much where I am. After all that education and investment I've learned what I actually want is to raise a family. I feel I've been sold a false bill of goods my whole life and now I'm nearly 30, single with no prospects and have my best childbearing years behind me. It's a sobering realisation, to say the least.
I'm pleasantly surprised by the strength of that statement. It's still just words, but perhaps the tide is starting to turn - we can only hope, for the sake of all the West.
