I've been to a bar in Austin that was operating as a speak easy and I've heard of many others like it in both cities. Is the one you're at doing the same? Are they really a bistro, cafe or lounge that primarily sell food? Are you in a red county?

Ahhhh. What I think you are referring to would be the natural reverb from the acoustics of the room they were in being picked up on the mics. You can't turn that off. It can be dampened to an extent with heavy drape being hung in certain locations of the room/hall they were in. A gate might've helped but if it weren't set up properly you'd still here some of the resonating reverb when the gates were opening and closing making it sound choppy and unnatural with both leading to a poor sounding mix. Post production could've helped but this was live.
It's also a taste thing when it comes down to it. You either like it or you don't.

It's bothersome to my brain. Lol. I've also never heard anyone actually saying "ya all come on in for supper now " As an abbreviation it's a part of the southern draw where words get mumbled (verbally or written) together to get the message across quicker.
My brain also freaks out when people don't put the apostrophe in front of the "cause" when abbreviating "because". Ive read that "cos" is an common and acceptable alternative abbreviation though the phonetic version of it, being"cuz", is much easier to interpret.
